I bought this for my son who is an over the road truck driver. He was a bit skeptical at first but it has exceeded both of our expectations. The info on this pan says that it takes 10 + min per 8 oz. of food but he called me the first time he used it and had heated an entire 18 oz. can of Progresso chicken sausage gumbo in about 6-8 minutes. He has figured out that if he has the truck running (slightly more oomph to the outlet) he can even bring water to a boil and cook pasta. Last night was spaghetti in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Though he would prefer a microwave, this will do the trick until he has a truck with an inverter and microwave. He plans on trying the skillet and we will rate it later. Well worth the money. I would recommend this to anyone on the road who doesn't want to eat out constantly. He puts some water in the pan when done cooking and lets the water get hot while he eats. Then he is able to easily clean the pot.

Ordered the Blue and White, What I Got Was And All Black Set, And That's OK With Me Since The Blue And White Was A hideous Color. It Was Also More Than $20 cheaper Than The $45 For The Blue Version, That May Also Come In Black So Save Your Self Some Money Order The cheaper One, They All Work The Same Way. I Have Not Tested It Yet, And I Am Not Holding My Breath Thinking this will be a magical pot or anything. So I Also Ordered Two Each RoadPro RPBH-012 12V Beverage Heater, Two Each RoadPro RP-203EC 12V 12' Extension Cord with Cigarette Lighter Plug, And Two Each of RoadPro 12V Battery Clip-On and Cigarette Lighter Adapter. to speed up the heating of water. The experiment Will Happen Soon.

Conditions:

Water Starting Temp 45F
Using Two Cups Of Water
Using The Pot With The Lid On To Help Retain Heat
Temp Taken With A OXO Instant Read thermometer

Results

Temp\Mins: ( 120F \ 15 Mins )
Temp\Mins: ( 160F \ 25 Mins )
Temp\Mins: ( 175F \ 30 Mins )
Temp\Mins: ( 190F \ 40 Mins )
Temp\Mins: ( 190F \ 45 Mins )
Temp\Mins: ( 190F \ 60 Mins )

Summery:

The Pot Never Reached Boiling Point, And Reached The Peek Temperature Of 190F In 40 Mins. If You Had 1 Hour For Lunch Or Less You Would Be Better Off Getting (Take Out\Take Away) Or Use A Insulated Thermos And Take Your Meals To Work. The Pot Does However Work If You Have The Time To Wait On It. I Pored The Water Over Ramen Noodles And After Four Mins Of Waiting They Were Cooked. The Pot Is Made From aluminum, and is very thin, so it will dent easily.

Improvements:

1. The Pan, And Lid Could Be Insulated To Help Retain Heat
2. A Turbo Switch Where If You Connect The Pot Directly To The Battery It Will Use A Bigger Element Within The Pot.

I just recently purchased this for my OTR driver ..... He called me up the first time using this product and shouted how much he loved it! He can now have HOT food soups, rice, mostly anything that I would cook on the stove at home. I am very excited to know he CAN have HOT food while being on the road......

Heats soup very well. I've scrambled eggs with no problem. It will heat water to the verge of boiling (tiny bubbles). Heats faster when I wrap a towel around it to help hold in the heat.

I've been using it for 3 years. I immersed it a couple times cleaning it. That eventually caused the connections at the element to rust. It's easy to take apart and clean those connections. I don't recommend this unless you know what you're doing. It's not difficult but if you don't know which end of the screwdriver how to use, the results could be very dangerous.

The only real downside to this product is that it's not non stick. Eggs stick to it like nobody's business. However, cleanup is as easy as putting in 2 cups of water and letting it heal up. The stuck on food will soften up and wipe right out.

I travel extensively in my van and live out of it. The RoadPro sauce pan is one of the best things I've bought for this purpose. I heat soup, veggies, anything in a can, heat water to near boiling for CupNoodles, and can even make pasta in about 20 minutes. This pan will not get to boiling, but can get nearly there which is good enough for most applications. It'll take a bit of time to heat up, which should be expected, but it has served me well thus far.

I bought this pot for my trucker husband. His exact words, "This is awesome!" He loves how quickly it boils items like water, soups, and canned ravioli. He uses it everyday for making his lunches/dinner, saving us lots of money by not eating at the truck stops. It also allows him to stock up on healthier items while on the road.

My husband is a truck driver and is loving this thing. We packed his dried meals for his truck in resealable bags that he uses like boil in bags. He heats the water, adds to the bag what the meal needs, then sets the entire bag over in the hot water (not boiling) and lets it sit about 10 minutes. Perfect hot meals that he loves every day. We went to you tube videos and trailcooking.com and got some great recipes.

UPDATE: GOT A TEXT TODAY STATING THE PAN BROKE! IT SUDDENLY DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE. GONNA HAVE TO FIND SOMETHING BETTER, BUT I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT!!!
