First off MADE IN CHINA for those that care.

I'm an Ugly Stik guy, I have at least 10 rods with the Ugly Stik name. They are not "the best" rods but they work, are durable, reasonably priced. Not this one. I ordered one, came in a box with a piece of paper for packaging, box was wrecked(thanks UPS). The rod survived but had a few nicks on it, nicks on a Tuna rod not good. I sent it back and had a new one the next day, great service from Amazon as always. This one had scratches on it and the eyes were crooked as was the blank the rod was built on. If you get lucky and get a good one it would be a good rod but it would be nice to inspect it in person before purchase. It does have the Aftco rollers and butt.

Why amazon uses UPS is beyond me. I get 20 packages a week, 99% of the boxes from UPS are crushed, I think its a job at UPS. Fedex boxes look like they hand carried it to my door, almost never a mark on them. Wake up Amazon. Fedex is always like 30% cheaper too?

I've used this rod on several shark fishing outings, and it has performed great so far. It is a lot more flexible than the BWSU1150130, and provides great action with the typical blue sharks we catch. It's basically the same rod with an extra 6" and an extra guide. This rod is well matched with a Penn 114 or 115 reel and 50-80 lb line. I now have two each of the 1150130 and 113080 and love 'em. Can't wait to try the BWSU113080 out on a big fish. I run fishing charters in Maine and rely on my tackle to be dependable and rugged. These rods fit the bill.
