I have issues with humidity in the summers, and bought this to protect my rifles/pistols in the safe. Just pop this inside, and it begins working. While I try to use dehumidifier packs to keep humidity down, this thing uses VPCs to protect against rust. While rust was a minor issue before (I would usually catch it before it happened), it's not anymore.

Be sure to replace when recommended!

This is the second one I have used in my gun safe to protect my firearms from rust. To be sure, I always clean and oil them before putting them away, but some of them have been in there for a couple of years. That is certainly long enough for the oil to have evaporated, losing any protection it might have provided, yet the guns are rust free. I don't know how this stuff works, but I am happy with the result.

This is a fine product to protect valued tools, gear and guns from atmospheric corrosion in tool boxes or cabinets. I have never experienced rusting when using Rust Blocker. It should be replaced yearly, as recommended, and the sponge interior becomes noticeably drier in that period. For gear that is normally lubricated after use, you should naturally continue to do so, but this product will maintain it well for extended periods of time.
