If you need to replace valve cores, this is the tool to do the job. Like many car related tools, we thought these tools would be a hassle. However, we were pleasantly surprised.

The bin that holds the tools is not anything special, but the tools inside are very well built. Except for some rubber grommets, everything is strong metal. Everything moves and adjusts very smoothly, and everything feels right.

The thing that makes these tools very valuable is that they can replace valve cores on systems under pressure, which is why we bought them. We tested the tool on a 1995 Pontiac Firebird, and on the first try, the valve core was replaced within 10 min!

These tools makes the process simple and easy. We are very satisfied with them, and they saved us a trip to the mechanic. If you need to replace valve cores, look no further.

Good quality tool and nice set but had to ding it three stars for not actually doing what it was designed to do. The high side valve on my 2001 Ford Expedition was just slightly too big to cleanly make it through the ball valve of this tool. It got hung up so I was left with a now pressurized tool with the M10 high side valve stuck in the tools ball valve. It must have got shifted cause I could not get the tool to grab the M10 valve to screw it back in so I had to go through the hassle of vacuuming and recovering the system anyhow. What I thought would be a 10 min job became 3 hours. Low side M8 valve had its own problems. The tools shaft it too long. You need rubber hands to manipulate the low side valve in and out cause the tool actually bumps into the engine. Would have been better off with their $10 manual tool.

I also don't think there are good enough descriptions for these kits. I had originally ordered another mastercool kit (standard and JRA) that was half the price based on Amazon description and customer reviews only to find out it did not fit the Ford. Had to send it back and pay more than double for this kit for it to fail me. Lots of time lost and aggravation gained for what should have been an easy fix.

I will say though that the quality of this tool is outstanding and would probably work for 99% of all applications. It just did not work for my 1%.

Update: just saw that another reviewer had the same problem as me with the valve getting hung up. Fix this problem and offer shorter shafts and this tool set would be perfect.

This kit has a good assortment of core removal tools, a high quality valve, and the quick connect high and low side adapters. It works very well, and nearly no lost refrigerant in changing out the questionable core. The kit is high quality and not inexpensive.

This valve core remover set is truly the "master" set. It has many different sized shafts for different schrader cores as well as adapters for R-12 and 134a. The ball valve is good quality and works smoothly. This tool kit will pay for itself quickly in the hands of an auto AC mechanic. The case will fit inside mastercool's manifold kit that comes in a larger case.

I use this kit to replace schrader valves on my work trucks AC (f150s, Rangers, and Tacomas) the rangers seem to need the most attention specifically the high side, and I gave it 3 instead of 5 stars because although the largest fitting unscrews the valve core, the schrader valve is just slightly too large to fit cleanly through the ball valve. I specifically bought this kit as it had the largest valve I could find, but it's about 1mm too small, the schrader unscrews fine but struggles to fit through the ball valve leaving me to open the valve under pressure once unscrewed and shoot the schrader valve out. It appears that it's snagging just slightly on the Teflon seal of the ball valve, so im hopeful that over time it become a little worn and wiggle out. I can install the new valve just fine. The low side and other smaller schrader scan be replaced effortlessly, the o rings and seals on this are top notch and the machining and quality of the fittings is great.

Fine quality product and should last me a lifetime since I will only use it on my fleet of vehicles and on those of family and friends. It worked well replacing valve cores on our 2007 Mitsubishi Galant, 1999 Toyota 4Runner, 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse, and 1999 Dodge Ram pickup. Instructions are fairly easy to understand. Hardest thing is choosing the correct tool for the specific valve core being removed so you don't damage the core during removal. This tool helps protect the environment from harmful refrigerants being released into the atmosphere from our AC systems. It's on pricey side for a tool only going to be used occasionally. This is the "Master Kit" so there are tools in it you may never use so might be able to just buy the specific tool for your application if not going to dabble much with automobile air conditioning systems.
