I used two of these in each of the mitered joints in the wood counter tops I installed myself. The definitely work as intended. It is very benefical if you can find a way to tighten them once the counter is installed. The loosen up a little moving things around. If you can get under there and tighten them, they pull the seam together nicely.

Have used hundreds of t bolts but always thought these would be stronger and they really are. For the home shop it's easier to prep the joint for these, no fabricating a router template and setting up the router with guide bushing. However you'll have to buy a forstner type of drill bit. Installation of these fasteners takes a little more time but it's worth it. I highly recommend them.

I have used these fasteners in the past, have always liked the way they tighten up joints, but if they are on the outside finished surface you have to be careful when tightening them. Otherwise if you slip you can mar your finish.

Easy to install, works as intended. We actually installed this on our counter top miter before placing it on the cabinets which made installation probably easier. Just flipped the counters over, used a hole saw to cut the holes on the underside and a drill to drill out the hole for the bar. Placed everything in place, tightened it down, and done. We used 3 of them on a miter cut about 35 inches long. Once we cinched the joints down, it was so secure that they held the 2 counters in place as we picked up the corner unit and placed it on the cabinets (we though we were going to need to a third person to support it at the miter as we were placing it on the counters just due to the total weight of the counters but that was no the case). Perfect item if you want a nice tight seal between 2 counter top cuts.

I purchased two of these fasteners to snug up a mitered corner on a butcher block counter top. They worked really well. I did however practice on some scrap wood and then scrap counter top stock to get a feel for the setup.

You should definitely make sure to buy the jig to properly install this. It worked well but is tedious to tighten. Other designs use a better system that involve a cam and lever or tighten with the use of an allen wrench.
