I bought this blade as an extra for my new Gyros saw. Arrived promptly in perfect condition! I haven't used it as I bought it as an extra blade, but it is exactly like the blade in the saw, so I expect it will function exactly like that blade.

This is definitely NOT a fast-cutting saw. It is a short saw for making extremely fine cuts. The miniature teeth make an almost polished edge on cross-cuts. The teeth actually have a microscopic "set" that make this great for cross-cutting, not so great for rip-cuts. It will still make smooth rip-cuts, but this is probably overkill in that department. You can get nice rip-cuts faster with a larger-toothed saw.

Occasionally, when I have a very difficult piece of wood ( one with extreme figuring or very dense wood like ebony) this saw is great for making a scoring cut before finishing the cut with a different saw. I mark the line with a marking gauge, set this saw in that line, saw lightly until a kerf is started. Then it is easy to cut to the line perfectly.

I have done a LOT of luthier work in my day, and find that this type of saw is perfect for making fret-slots even in the hardest woods.

So, please consider this inexpensive little saw as a specialized addition to your hand-tool arsenal. It performs several jobs that other saws cannot touch... even the fancy expensive Japanese saws do not cut as smoothly as this great little toy. Considering how inexpensive it is, this is a really great bargain.
