I've gone through a number of bottles from different manufacturers while doing 500-700 solicitation mailings per week over the past couple of years. This one is more expensive than what I could have gotten at the store--they all seem overpriced--but with the winter we're having, it was worth the extra price not to make a special trip to the store.

This is the first time I've used this brand and what I've found is a more consistent level of moisture that is easier to control. If you are new to using this type of product, it will take a little getting used to with the "when and how much pressure" to be putting on the bottle. This worked great for me within a couple of swipes. One drawback is that with the bottle not being clear, you can't see how low your water level has gotten. But that's not a big deal as you can feel when you need to refill it.

But with all sponge-tipped moisteners I've encountered, the sponge begins to deteriorate with use and eventually you have to replace the entire bottle because it seems no one sells just the sponged caps. I've been using this one for just under 4 weeks and the wear and tear is already obvious. I'm hoping to get 4-5 months use out of it.

What would have me giving this a better rating would be either the ability to purchase replacement caps, or have the item packed/sold with 3 or 4 replacements. I'd be willing to pay a little more money if I could get more use out of it and not have shop for them as often.

Will I be buying this brand again? Yes, due to more consistency with moisture than I've experienced with other brands, making this easier to use.

ok, I didn't expect much, after all I made it through 20+ years without needing an envelope moistener (now I have a client who still mails a lot and I don't want to lick envelopes). So, just for giggles I read the instructions and it says" "transparent squeezable plastic bottle..." It's dark green! definately not transparent. It's made in China -- guess that explains the "lost in translation". Anyway, I had my giggles... it works... it's cheap... it works... it look inconspicuous on the desk (it's small enough)... beats licking glue! Oh: if you have a curious cat, better keep it in a drawer!

I got this so I can stop having to lick envelopes altogether, but the sponge gushes out too much water and is too rough to properly moisten the envelope. I have to wipe off excess water each time and let it dry before sealing it, but by then the stickiness is gone and the envelope won't seal anymore. It actually works better if I just wet my finger and swipe it across.

This little gadget is great for sealing a lot of envelopes. I used to use it for stamps, but they all come self-stick now. I use it mostly for Christmas cards, or when I have a batch of invitations to send out. Keeps my tongue from getting all yucky.

Not the greatest envelope moistener. Have to squeeze fairly hard to get any water out, then it proceeds to leak out the top. I suggest doing this over a trash can or something so not to get your mail soaking wet. Wouldn't reccomend if your only mailing out a few things, as its more a hassle than it;s worth

You have to be careful when using this product. If you squeeze (don't do that over what you're sealing.) while it's upside down you may get too much water at once. I would squeeze over a paper towel and then go about getting the envelope moist. It will help immensely though with having to do a lot of envelope licking.

SOMETHING SO LITTLE AND SILLY AS THIS AND THEY COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT? THE HOLE IS SO SMALL THAT NO WATER GOES THROUGH, AND IF YOU TRY TO SQUEEZE THE BOTTLE TO MAKE SOME WATER COME OUT, THE TOP JUST COMES OFF AND YOUR ENTIRE DOCUMENT WILL GET COMPLETELY WET! WHAT A STUPID PRODUCT!

This does its job. At times too much water comes through the sponge and the sponge does seem to have to be cleaned from time to time due to build up of adhesive. Both of these are easy issues to deal with. The sponge bottle makes sealing envelopes more sanitary (v. licking them) and cost effective (v. taping them).
