This is an OK item. I did not want to have 3 screens and I did not want to have three-headed dragon (8/11/13) in one either. Such a monster would stick out to far. Considering that I have 7.5, 8 and 10 inches pans I wanted to have one screen, which would work on all my pans. Unfortunately, you never know what 10 inches stands for in real world - is it designed for 10-inches pans or is it its own diameter (and if so - outer or inner)? The harsh reality is that item's outer diameter is 9 3/4 inches. It covers 8 inches pan well and dose not stick out too far and it lies inside 10 inches pan (lodge, all clad) but does not go to deep, stays very close to the top of the pan. It is what I wanted, but real 10 inches would work better in my case. I decided to keep the item but I wish to see more descriptive descriptions from the seller and manufacturer.

Quality? You really care, you will certainly find something better at Williams-Sonoma for $50-$60

I needed a smaller splatter screen for my 9" skillet. This one looked the best and had good reviews. It's alright, the handle makes it easier to lift during cooking without getting your hands oily or burned, but it also makes the screen unbalanced due to the weight of the handle, so it has a tendency to lift up a little on one side, and is easily knocked over. Also, the mesh isn't as fine as it could be, so while it does stop splatters, a non-negligible amount does still get through. Mine also has some sort of yellow staining where the handle meets the rim of the splatter guard, not sure what that is but it doesn't come off with washing and looks like a kind of lacquer or glue.

It does look nice though, and is easy to clean.

But 1.5 stars (just imagine the 0.5 star) knocked off because of the mesh size, my cheaper Ikea splatter guard has better (thinner, denser) mesh than this, but they didn't make it in the right size and this one does seem a bit more durable.

Final thing, this isn't 10". It is around 9.5".

After many trips through the dishwasher my previous aluminum screened spatter screens were dying. I decided to move to all stainless to (hopefully) alleviate this issue.

After a few months of usage I am generally pleased but worried about the handle to screen joint. Both of my spatter screens show significant flexibility where the handle is attached to the screen and I am worried they will eventually break there.

It does the job it needs to do, but once I didn't realize my pan wasn't entirely on the element and while my splatter screen was over the edge of the pan a bit, the part that was exposed to direct heat from the element burned black. It remained discolored even after washing, but it didn't appear to ruin the splatter screen.

Having previously used 'basic' sized splatter screens to cover my smaller frying pans, I had lost the space advantage of the lesser diameter, since the screen would still take up a greater space on the stovetop.

What I needed was a 'mini-mesh', similiar, yet more miserly in it use of territory than the larger screen types...

This item accomplished that feat, while providing a quality mesh and frame, defeating any attempt at grease escaping to the relative freedom of the burners. Trapped within the frying surface, it sacrifices itself to the moistness and flavors of the food...
