I bought this to build a drop-shelf for my travel trailer. I attached it to the trailer walls using a pop rivet gun and then attached a wood table top to the other side and have been loving it. The mechanism is really easy to use - just pull up until it latches. Then to drop the shelf, just squeeze the button - no pinched fingers!
The only minor nit is that there is enough play side to side that you have to lift in a straight line to get the shelf to open squarely and clear the nearby countertop edge. I only used one lever for my needs - I imagine if you were using two of these for a bigger shelf or to hold more weight that wouldn't be an issue, but it's really not a problem in daily use so I'm not going to hold it against them.
