Before this pair, I used the Klein red handled straight sidecutters. I was unaware of the difference between the red and blue handles until I did some research online and found out that the blue handles are made with a harder temper of steal in order to be able to cut through nails and screws. I decided on the journeyman's pair because of the soft grip handle and the cost difference was on only about 2 bucks more. The angled head gives the ability for leverage when pulling out wire staples and other nails that might be in the way of running new wire.

I have to start off by saying that these dykes took a while to break in. Luckily I remember a Klein Rep once say that sometimes due to manufacturing some cutters (individual basis only) can take longer to break in. I had to use these many times like I would my linemans to bang something just to get them to break in. Now that they have, like most of my klein tools, I have zero complaints. Product works great.

These are the best "dykes" I've ever had. These cut hardened steel and copper with ease. These are not di-electric handles but you're gonna be ok working on any voltage 480v and below. The handles really add extra leverage!

What can I say? These are the best cutters I've owned. No break in needed and they're extremely comfortable. Not to mention the eat through anything. Didn't think I'd like them more than my Knipex cutters that sadly took a swim in the Mississippi, but you really cant beat these. Think I'll start up a collection of the Series 2000 Journeyman tools

Extremely handy! They are already broken in for the most part. They just fall open. I got them rather recently too.
They're very strong. The tilt to the cutter is good for fitting into nooks and crannies. Another awesome Klein product.

It says a lot about a tool when you replace one with exactly the same one you had before. This is my 3rd set of these and nothing else feels, works or lasts like Klein. Yes this is my 3rd set, however I got 5+ years out of each set before demoting them to the garage and they are still good enough for home projects. Cant go wrong with these.
