This is formualted to create a balanced meal out of 100% meat products (raw or canned) which don't already contain bone or adequate amounts of added calcium. Meat does not contain an adequate amount of calcium to sustain dogs and cats. Meat which is processed will lose many nutrients so a product like this should be added to all meat diets (or meat and veggie diets).

Unfortunately the Wysong company doesn't make it super easy to figure out what supplement of theirs you should use, but if you spend some time on their website you will figure it out. We have been using this product and others in their line for about 10 years. If it weren't for the price, I'd have used them consitently.

Note: C-biotic (C=canine) and F-biotic (F=feline) are ideal to add to a raw diet WITH bone, and Add Life should be added to any cooked diet.

I have used Call of the Wild for quite a while now for one of my cats. I feed a raw diet and one of my cats completely rejected any organs – she had to eat organs to have a balanced diet. All my attempts resulted in either her not eating, or her vomiting them – which were the majority of the times.
Call of the Wild will balance pure muscle meat into a complete and balanced meal, solving my problem completely. All I do is serve her a variety of meats. I also add probiotics and Krill oil in the morning to balance the O6 in the meat.
I noticed that her digestion has improved a great deal since eating Call of the Wild – she used to have Gas, and no longer has it. Her digestive system works perfectly. Her blood test is perfect, and her energy level is top notch. She is doing amazing!
Out of my three cats, two can eat, but I only give it to one because of the high cost. My IBD kitty has had a severe reaction to it, so if you have a cat with IBD you might want to watch it carefully and introduce this product very slowly. My IBD cat could not take ANY, even a dust.
The dosage is 1TSP per 3oz of meat – I feed 1.5oz per meal, so I use ½ TSP per meal. It sounds like a lot of powder, but my kitty really loves it and will lick the plate clean. It smells good to eat.

I think that this product is wonderful!

My dog and cats love the taste of it. I would never be able to provide the same level of nutrition to my pets by using only my own ingredients. This enhances the nutrtional level of my pets' meals considerably. And it is so easy to use. I often add some fresh vegetables, blueberries, and a very small amount of liver too, instead of just boneless meat or fish, but that's optional because all of those things are already included in Call of the Wild. All you really have to do is add one teaspoon of Call of the Wild to every 3 ounces of fresh meat, stir it up, and serve. It's that simple to give your pet a fresh food complete and balanced stellar diet.

I used to think that the best kibbles like Orijen, Nature's Variety Instinct, etc, were okay for my dog. Call of the Wild with fresh meat or fish is a far beter diet for my dog. What a comfort it is to know that my pets are getting the nutrients of a natural diet: raw meats, organs, connective tissues, vitamins, minerals, fruits, vegetables, fiber, fats, antioxidents etc. -- about everthing that they'd get from eating natural prey and other natural foods. And this is not expensive. It's very convenient and uncomplicated.

I use Call of the Wild for most of the pets' meals (and sometimes I also feed Stella and Chewey's freeze dried raw.)

My dog devours the homecooked meats with this stuff on it. I would not be able to provide the same level of nutriton without this product.

I very highly recommend this product for homecooked pet meals.

You should also get a food scale to weigh the meat, so you can add the correct amount of Call of the Wild. Use measuring spoons, too.

I add the suggested amount of powder to the raw meat I feed my cats. Also add it to cooked poultry to make it a completely nutritious meal. I add a few teaspoons of water to make sure all pieces are coated. The cats don't seem to notice it is in their food. I feel comfortable knowing they are receiving human grade meat (as I buy it at my grocery store) and that they are getting complete nutrition without any chance of adulterated ingredients or additives. Great product!

In the past, for raw and homecooked diets, I have always used supplements from B Naturals (Lew Olsen, whose book on raw and homecooked foods I consider a bible). The supplements from B Naturals are expensive, which is not really an issue for me, but the shipping is expensive and a pain (which is a problem for me). In addition, I was tired of needing to order 2 or 3 separate supplements, plus a calcium supplement, in order to make a complete homecooked diet.

I went searching online and found this product recommended by Mary Strauss (dogaware.com and WDJ contributor). I was intrigued because this product (unlike the ones mentioned above) is complete, including calcium!! That bonus of having the calcium included in invaluable. It is so nice to have one bottle that has all the vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and calcium in one.

I homecook for one of my pugs. She gets 7.5 ounces of cooked meat and 2.5 ounces of veggies daily. I add a little over a teaspoon of the Wysong Call of the Wild before feeding. So far, everything has been going very well and I just ordered my second bottle of this stuff.

Some proponents of homecooked or raw diets say that if dogs are getting the proper variety, they won't need supplements, but I don't believe that to be true. It's not worth the risk. This product is a breeze to use and helps reassure me that my pug is not being shorted on important nutrients.
