The BSA regulation for pinewood derby requires 3/8" of clearance between the bottom of the car and the ground. If you put this on the bottom of your car, YOU WILL VIOLATE THAT REGULATION. Luckily, our pack let my son race with this on. But any district race will probably not allow this. Best stick to bored-sunken or top-mounted weights.

This was a great product for the Pinewood Derby car. Directions call for making a hole in the bottom of the car to fit the weight but I just screwed it right in with no track clearance issues at all. Since it has screws you can use it over and over again. This is a terrific way to add 2 ounces to your Derby car quickly and easily. I would recommend this product.
