Upon opening the container I noticed that most of the wooden bolts had rough and cracked edges. (I will try to post the pictures I took). I'm certain that I could have returned them but 15 minutes of sanding took care of the problem and saved me the aggravation.

The container is marked: "Choking hazard - Not for children under 3 years." and "Non-Toxic paint."

The set comes with 16 bolts, 16 nuts, 2 long connector boards and 4 small connector boards. That's a total of 38 pieces.

I think my grandson is going to enjoy these!

I purchased these Nuts & Bolts for a 0-3 playroom activity table as a manipulative for kids. The colors are nice and vibrant and the pieces are intuitive enough that kids can work out what they want to do pretty easily!

There are no tools included in this - just nuts, bolts, and wooden pieces for them to join together!

I'm not crazy about the storage container as things don't fit back in there quite so well once things have been attached, but overall this is a great high quality product made of solid wood that the kids keep coming back to again and again!

Lack of reviews and a mixed review made me hesitate on these for a long time. However, when I got them I was so happy! Yes, I do have a few with less than perfect ends as the pic posted shows. However, none of the edges are especially rough and how small they are you don't really notice. They are big and chunky and although my son doesn't really know how to twist them on an off by himself yet, he has made up all kinds if things that these simple bolts, nuts and connector pieces can be. Also he loves putting them in the bucket with the handles on it. Very pleased.

We purchased this for our 18 month old, who loves to put together and take apart things. He's a little young for this set but I think it won't be long until he is able to use it better. My 3 year old enjoys playing with it too, this set is a nice alternative to blocks, I would recommend it for the 2+ crowd.

These are awesome! My 15 month old is obsessed with spinning the nuts one and off the bolt (with observation). The container state 0-3 shouldn't play with this toy but I find it really has advanced his fine motor skills. The price is great and it really is a quality product. Very happy. Also purchased the Plan nut and bolt toy and love that too. It's very large in comparison.

My 5 1/2 year old deaf son with severe developmental delays loves screwing and unscrewing nuts and bolts. I've been looking for a decent wood set for a while, but it's hard to find many of them without paying a small fortune for little tool sets that I know I'll throw out 90% of. He got these straight out of the box, no sanding required on the set I received. The was the first toy he wanted badly enough to ask for with his picture cards. So it's helped with communication, is a great stress reliever for him, and isn't too hard to pick up off the floor.
