I bought this about 8 years ago to do all types of automotive work, and it works perfectly. A high AC and DC reading makes household work easy too. I recently starting soldering circuit boards for motorcycles, and the diode check, ohms, and resistance tests have been so accurate and easy once I had the factory values to compare it to. To be honest, the manual is skimpy, but I just googled my way to understanding what the circuits should read, and it didn't take long before this became my go-to device when lights started to flicker, bike cuts out, windows wont roll up, car batteries die prematurely, or just chasing suspected broken or otherwise problem wires, diodes, resistors, and fuses. Great tool that takes just a little getting used to.

I purchased this model almost 5 years ago. I am still on the same 9v battery despite leaving it on a couple of times for awhile by accident. I have used it on everything from checking batteries for the kids' toys to electrical work around the house. This is a very versatile checker and has a high max AC and DC load for the price (more than some twice the price). My home is older and I've done a lot of electrical work with it including adding breakers to the main electrical panel and working with the fuse box (I have both in my house). The instructions are a bit lacking but since my father was a line man and electrical contractor growing up we always had something like this around the house, so I know how to use it (plus I paid attention in science class and didn't go to school in Kansas ;) I am just now looking for a replacement lead because the insulation cracked on the black one, but that's my own fault for inappropriately storing it while wrapping the wires around the device instead of unplugging them from the device :( I was about to by another one, but then i found the replacement part for about $5.

I bought this multimeter because I needed to know if a wire was "hot" before I started working. This product seemed like a good choice. The reviews were mostly positive. This tester works great! It has a very accurate digital read out. The plastic case is light but doesn't feel cheap. It was very easy to use even for beginners like me. I was able to work with wires and appliances with complete peace of mind. I recommend this tester for anyone looking for a good product with a reasonable price.

This multitester is a great product. It's simple to use, especially for testing circuits, batteries, even continuity. Despite some other negatives from other reviewers, get this product. The price and quality are good. One small complaint: The instruction booklet could be a little clearer on what each setting does.

The price is right, but the meter isn't anything special. I bought it to put in my camper to check the occasional bad fuse, open circuit, test polarity, etc. and it does the job. It requires a 9v battery (not included) which means that the cost of batteries will be more than the cost of the meter before too long. Also, you have to have a small phillips screw driver to replace the battery. The manual is the barest possible and some functions (at least as it appears) aren't even explained. But, for the standard stuff that I bought it for, it works well. It is compact, but not as small as some others. Overall, it is sufficient.
