I like to have more out of my Bass sound. The stock (or duller) strings are ok, but if you are looking for a real difference, these work. If you really need the BRIGHTEST SOUND, Try the COBALT STRINGS, but the cobalt string you will have to pay in pain because these are much sharper to the fingers than nickel wound or Pro Steels. I've tried all three and found the Pro Steels are very adaptive with how you want to "shape" your own sounds.

I am learning the bass and was advised to try these strings by a friend. They arrived really quickly and were well sealed, which is important to me as I live in Hawaii and the moist atmosphere can cause excessive corrosion. Once rigged on my bass they sound great and give a good deep clean feel to the sound. Yep I will be buying D'Addario from now on, especially confident that I can keep them in my case and use them when I need without them corroding.

With 6 basses, i burn through a lot of strings......always been pretty picky. I have always been a DR, and Markley guy, but was looking for a more cost effective alternative. I research a lot (OCD). I hate XL nickels. A lot. I gave pro steels a try. WOW!!!!! fast break in and KILLER tone!!!! Better than the DR's even!! Granted, they have only been on a few days, but for $13, who cares if I only get half the normal life i have been accustomed to!

Think Piano strings. And yeah if you're craving that growly piano sound this is it. I have them in my Jazz and Precision Fenders and just love the sparkly growl the put on them. Recomended.

I first heard these strings when I bought an Ibanez SR300. They are much more bassy than the Ernie Ball strings I've previously used. I much prefer these strings.

When I first started playing bass back in the late 80's I was never happy with the stock strings. So I'd look through the music magazines and see what all my heroes were using. A majority of them were using D'Addarios of some sort. So I grabbed up a pack of em and strung em on. It's been 25 years now and I'm still using the same strings. Get em,Play em,Love em!
