I replace my "Hoppe's 9" with this stuff primarily so that I could clean my firearms inside
without annoying my wife with the smell. It works well but not quite the way the older
product did. ie: It's not an oily kind of liquid and drys more quickly. So you need to
get down to business scrubbing the deposits and wiping off the dirty residue. The older
cleaner let you have the parts 'soak' a while and there was no rush to remove the dirty
liquid.

Hoppe's elite is a low toxicity general purpose gun cleaner when using a separate oil for lubrication. It is not the strongest cleaner but the lack of fumes means no headaches, no venting needed, and no rubber gloves makes it easy to use. I choose it because it doesn't harm the frame of my Glock, the rubber of my P238 grip or any of the numerous plastic bits on my 6920. You will definitely need to augment your normal cleaning regimen with harsher chemicals for copper and carbon build up but you probably do that already if you respect your firearms.

Wow, so they do have this cleaner in bigger bottle. I will clean my guns more often and pour this 32 ounce into the 8 oz bottle in the future. For people who bought this they must used the 8 oz Elite gun cleaner before, and all know how good this cleaner is. Cleans better than all other cleaner, and no smell at all, and it doesn't grease or lubricate, so you best combo this with Hoppe's Gun Oil with T3 afterward.

The best thing about this product is that you don't have to worry about your whole house smelling like solvent after you clean a single gun, or let alone three. For me that was a big selling point. It's also nice that the bottle is a spray bottle ahead of time. Saved me some effort there.

If you want something just as strong as Hoppes other solvent but without the funky wife-annoying fumes, get this. It's worth the cost.

I was hesitant to use Hoppe's Elite after being satisfied with Hoppe's #9. But Elite works BETTER without the nasty stink and complaints from the wife. I'm very satisfied with the performance of Hoppe's Elite and it will replace Hoppes #9 in my cleaning equipment.

I have used petroleum based cleaners (.g., Hoppes #9, Ballistoil, Breakfree CLP) and the problem I have with all of them is the strong odor. If you like the smell, then you will have no problem, but I don't care for them. The Hoppes Elite is detergent based and cleans up with water. More important, there is no odor! If I didn't like this stuff, why would I be buying the 32 ounce size? It's the most economical way to purchase it. I transfer the liquid to the smaller 4 oz spray bottle which was the first size that I tried.

Of course, to really get the lead and gunfire residue out of the chambers and barrel, you need to use Lead Away patches! The combination of Lead Away and Hoppe's Elite is the 1-2 punch when it comes to gun cleaning!

The biggest reason why I bought this is because I read it had low fumes and low odor to the point you could clean your guns anywhere and the misses won't freak out. It's true, this stuff has only a little light odd (but not unpleasant) smell when you're up close to it, but that's it. No odor isn't entirely true, but the odor that is there is as negligible as any average household product/item odor, even less so. No tearing either or harshness on the eyes like other cleaners often do.

This stuff also cleans all my guns thoroughly and quickly. It breaks down gunk much better than Hoppe's No. 9 does. And the more I use it, the faster my guns clean. They don't seem to dirty like they did when I was cleaning with no. 9. I shot my Beretta PX4 9mm 250 rounds in a single day at an outdoor all day shoot. The gun seemed to have attracted and kept less grime than even 100 rounds before. I understand now why they claim with continued use it can speed cleaning time up to 80%.

Important tip: this stuff is indeed exactly the same as M-Pro7, it's just a brand deal when it appears as Hoppe's Elite. So buy whichever size you're looking for at which is cheapest. I know my next purchase is likely to get a whole gallon and split is with someone, as of the time of this writing a gallon of M-Pro7 is only twice the cost of a quart of Hoppe's Elite. It may take a long time to use up, but I read their official recommendation is 2 years, but they also mention they know customers who have been using the same jug for 10 years with same success. So officially 2 years shelf life, unofficially, as long as you could possibly need or you don't shoot enough. This stuff is just way too expensive per ounce in small bottles.

This stuff cleans great. I had been buying the 4 oz. size locally when I spotted this 32 oz. size on Amazon priced at what I would pay for 2 of the 4 oz. bottles. I refill an empty 4 oz. bottle from this 32 oz. size, and get 8 refills. So 8 for the price of 2 - works for me! The fact that the product works great is the primary reason for buying it. The deal on Amazon made it a no-brainer.
