I am a writer, so I am very critical of pens, and I recieved a promotional Bic Grip Roller Pen, and was very impressed. Its easy to hold because it is fat and has a rubber area, but the pen seems to write like the Uniball pens, but much better. No skipping, but deep black ink. Also, it appears to be made in USA... a little bonus.

These are very good pens; they glide smoothly across the page when writing and leave a consistently smooth-looking line of black ink; however, stop in mid-writing and a puddle of ink will form and accrue on the page (it is very negligible though).

The shaft of the pen itself is almost too thick, but that is merely a subjective opinion; it would depend on hand-size which varies from person to person.

I am glad that one gets a full dozen pens; frankly, I need a full dozen in that I (probably like most people) am always losing pens. I have tacked the box that these come in to the wall in front of my tiny writing table; that way I can retrieve and then put back each pen so that the chance of losing any one of them all too soon is diminished.

Very good pens for the price.

I recommend these to you for writing!

The pen writes easily, smudges a bit but is fairly quick drying. Left-handers might think twice. It is a very large pen, with a good, rubberized grip.

Largest issue is that the ink appears to be water soluble, and can smear/run heavily if it comes into contact with liquid -- from rain to a busted water heater. It is not the best archival writer for this reason.

These pens are pleasurable to write with and produce a satisfying, bold line very reliably. However, there are a couple of problems. First, the ink dries a little slowly and is therefore slightly prone to smearing -- not a big deal, but worth noting. More significantly, I've had several of these pens leak on me. The conical area just tipward of the grip gets covered in ink; I've had to throw away 3 or 4 out of a box of 12 for this reason so far.

Who ever thought that I would spend twenty-two dollars on a dozen pens so that they would arrive early enough to go with my on my vacation? After my friend let me use her BIC Grip Stick Roller Ball Pen, I had to get one.

I write a lot, so I am judgmental about my pens. You could call me a pen connoisseur. I always keep a pen and a notebook nearby, and a cheap ballpoint pen will not do for me. In the past, I have not had a good relationship with BIC pens - I switched to Uniball pens long ago. But I must say that I am impressed. These pens glide across the page very nicely, the pen dispenses the right amount of ink, and it is comfortable, but you can tell that it is not one of those pens where the manufacturer made too much of an effort to make it comfortable. This is just right.

One more thing that is a huge plus for me: I am left handed. If my pen's ink does not dry quickly, it rubs all over my hand. This does not happen with this pen, which is a very positive thing for me. Now, I don't need to hold my hand up so not to smudge what I have written.

I do public relations for high tech companies, and one of them had hundreds of these pens to give away at trade shows. I borrowed one to take notes, and decided not to give it back. In fact, although the client in long gone, I still have a couple in my purse. They last a long time.

But that's not the selling point. The great thing about these pens is how they write. They feel soft in your hand and the tip feels easy on the paper. They're marketed as fine point, but they provide a nice substantial line. Good for signatures you have to scan or fax. Good for checks that you're bank scans for your statements, instead sending the checks back to you. Good for people like me who appreciate readability.

It's a clean pen, no blobs, no inconsistency in the width of the line. I've never had one go dry on me yet, so I don't know what happens at the end. But I do know that if you put the cap on when you're finished writing, they last a lot longer than most ballpoints I've used.

I love them, and highly recommend them.

I've used these pens before, so I know they work just fine and the ink should glide right out of the tip. But out of the entire box of pens I got from Amazon, most were dried and faulty. I had to send them back. Disappointed, b/c I do a lot of Amazon shopping and usually most of their stuff is great. I wouldn't waste your time buying these pens here, though.

I got a couple of these pens from my insurance broker and I really liked them... thought I'd buy a whole box for myself. I don't know what the difference is but the ones I bought are crap. They skip, they blob, they're awful. I threw two of them away because they frustrated me so. The others are likely to follows those into the trash. My advice is buy something else. These are junk.
