Gets me through the day, everyday

The great thing about this cream is that it seems to help with the inflammation and not just the pain itself. I suffer from never-ending nerve pain in my back and leg. The more inflamed the nerve and muscles get, the worse the pain becomes.

I have resorted to even having to take powerful pain killers in the past since it effects my quality of life that much, but of course the pain pills also effect my ability to function. This works well, but it's icy cold.

I'm a runner and also work out regularly in the gym. As a result I often have "good aches" when I come home, i.e the natural effect of an intense workout or run as opposed to having pulled or strained something. I have a number of pain relievers that I use, and this is one of them.

This has both menthol and camphor in it, so there is a strong smell initially (though not unpleasant), which dissipates within about 15 minutes. This is very soothing for tired and aching muscles, and provides instant relief.

However the label "warm therapy" is really a misnomer because there's nothing "warm" about this at all. To the contrary, once it starts working it feels icy cold. [BUT see update below about how this set my quads "on fire" after the icy cold feeling went away.] So if that's going to bother you, then choose another pain reliever.

Bottom line: This works well, but it's icy cold.

Update January 19, 2016: The other night I came home from an intense gym workout, and right before bedtime put a liberal amount of Sombra on to ease my aching quads. It was icy cold, and when I climbed into bed, I was debating about whether to add another blanket. But about 30 minutes later it felt like my quads were on fire, and I had to put a blue ice pack on to cool them off. I guess the "warm therapy" kicked in because of the confined space I was in (I was under the covers). This kind of reaction hasn't happened to me when I apply Sombra to my quads and walk around with nothing covering them. It was not a pleasant feeling, so I may use a different product right before bedtime.

I can't live without it!!!

I have been using this for a few years. I have tremendous pain in my lower back and hips. This is the only thing I have found that works every time! I also use it on calf muscles and shoulder pain. I can't say more than it is super fantastic and I will always use this!

Soothing Gel With A Pleasant Smell

I have been using Sombra Warm gel for more than 15 years in my massage therapy practice. Clients like the citrus smell that doesn't linger on them very long after the session. It's soothing sensation and pain relief is similar to Tiger Balm, without the intense and long lasting aroma or petroleum jelly stickiness. Another plus for me is that it easily washes off my hands, unlike some other products. It helps relieve sore muscles and arthritis pain. The bottom line for me is that my clients who enjoy analgesics really like it and thank me for using it.

Does wonders for pain and muscle knots

I also use the gel one. I would suggest getting both because it is a deadly combo...in a good way. I apply this when my muscles are sore or tight or I have aches and knots and it does an amazing job. Usually before bed is when I use it most often. Smell is strong but what pain relieving medicine doesn't smell strong

Love this it leaves you feeling great. Is smooth and pleasant. It reliefs my back pain after exercise(I know I am not squatting properly). The smell is a little strong my husband doesn't like it but I love it. It gets cold and the very warm sometimes I still feel warm trough out the day. I like better than the heating disposable pads it works better.

Massage therapist put me onto it and I like it much better than Biofreeze

I have been using this product for several years and find it effective at not just pain relief but has healing properties as well. Massage therapist put me onto it and I like it much better than Biofreeze, Ben Gay etc. The scent isn't as strong as those others and it leaves no oily residue. I"ve found it effective at relieving headaches from muscle tension and tight muscles from being at the computer or reading too long. It helps reduce the pain of migraines.
