I still have several of these battery cutoff switches. They look exactly identical to the old-style Harbor Freight battery cutoff switches--made in China, of course. I was buying them on sale for $1.99 each. I don't know if you can find them anymore. The only complaints I had with these switches were the loose keys and the mounting holes. As for the loose keys, I used some small wire to fasten the keys to the battery box I built. As for the mounting holes in the switch, I drilled them out so they would accept 1/4" bolts. That was a little overkill on my part, I admit, but I had a specific application. I've done this 2x, and it's worked out fine. Do this at your own risk. There are a few spring-loaded parts inside the switch, so be careful if you do take it apart not to lose anything. The closest thing Harbor Freight sells now is item # 66789 which seems to be more heavy-duty than this switch, and the handle (key) is permanently mounted to the unit. It is also more expensive, even on sale for $7.99. That having been said, this item does work well, and I have had zero problems with the 2 switches I use on a regular basis. I looked thru my inventory last nite, and I came up with a brand new switch in the package from Harbor Freight. It's item # 92688 manufactured under the brand U.S. General. Amazingly enough, it's called BATTERY CUT-OFF SWITCH. According to the package, this product is rated at 100amp capacity @ 12v with a 1000amp surge and 50amp capacity @ 24v with a 500amp surge rating. These amperage capacities may be the only difference between the products. So, if you have an application requiring less than 100amp continuous at 12v, grab as many of them as you can.

Exactly as described and what I needed. Slight glitch; I had to drill out the ends of my cables to fit the 3/8" dia posts on the back of the switch. Bigger task was concealing switch on my factory correct ''65 Mustang.

I installed this on my Rv to quickly disconnect the battery for storage. This with the help of a 5 watt solar charger keep my battery fully charged and always ready. This switch feels well built. You will need your own hardware ( bolts, terminals, ect) to get it installed. Get one.

It should have been clearly mentioned that the switch comes only with ONE key. Other similar units available have TWO keys as standard.
