5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tea Kettle, February 25, 2005
By Marty (Virginia) - See all my reviews
I am very pleased with this tea kettle. I was hesitant after I read some reviews that indicated it poured sloppily and dripped. I trust KitchenAid so I bought it anyway. I don't know if these users were trying to pour through the whistle hole or why they had trouble. I open the whistle top over the spout (it has a silicone covered lever) and have had absolutley no problem pouring from this tea kettle. It heats water quickly and pours easily without dripping and has a great warranty. It also comes in great colors!

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy Oxo Good Grips kettle instead, March 31, 2004
By J. Miele (Jersey, yo.) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I love KitchenAid products, but the performance of this tea kettle is not up to the lofty standards that the company has set for itself.

Positive: It is a beautiful kettle and the enamel coating looks very durable. The silicone grips are a nice touch.

Negative: The whistle is not very loud. It would be easy not to hear the whistle if you are in another room watching TV. The kettle also does not pour the water very well. The water comes out seemingly from all angles of the spout and the kettle has to be turned nearly upside-down to get all the water out.

It is not terrible, but for the same money there are better kettles on the market. Buy the Oxo good grips kettle instead - it is a better product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely in red, February 9, 2005

I've had this kettle for about a year now and it looks so good on my stove. The handle stays cool and I like the little spout lid flipper. No burned fingers removing the whistler as on my old kettle. When pouring water, it does tend to splatter, but I've found if I wait a short time, then pour, that doesn't happen.

The color is a little darker than I expected -- more a cherry red than a fire engine red. The whistle is nice and loud, which is good for me, since I have been known to forget... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the price
My dislikes:
1. The spout gets hot, so when your pour the water, it'll sizzle and drips all over. You have to pour ever so
slowly. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but pricey
This is a nice product but a little over priced. It will not whistle if filled too full which is about half full.
