I bought this because it was the only plain leather bridle set I found on Amazon, with leather reins. but its very thin, soft leather which could easily break. and the metal buckles are just thin cut metal, maybe tin since they were already tarnished and partly black when it arrived.

I really enjoy my western bridle. But there are a few problems with it that make it not so great. It is all bent out of shape when it comes out of the box. It needs really gentle care, it falls apart easily.
Over all, I think you'd want to use it with gentle handling. Mine is pretty new and I have trouble with it. I have already replaced one of the buckles.

My daughter was so thrilled to get this for Christmas, but it broke within a week. The product seems a bit flimsy, especially for younger children, but the attention to detail is great. Looks realistic, but is so tiny.

This was a very flimsy, poorly put together piece of junk, broke when trying to put it on the horse, very poor workmanship and quality for $12.00 plus shipping, very unhappy with this purchase, i would like my money back. Keep ypur money on this one.

I'm not quite sure who at Breyer is in charge of labeling but this is neither a western bridle nor is something you would consider as a western show bridle.

Western bridles do not have a noseband and if they did, show bridles have bling. They have silver medallions where the buckles are and silver plates down the cheek straps. The only thing western about it is the 2 separate reins that are not attached with a buckle. This is actually a pain since the riders can't "hold" onto the separate reins easily and my daughter now has to keep 4 things attached; the horse, the rider, and 2 reins.

Now if you want a very thin, delicate, hunt seat bridle with western reins, then this is perfect. My daughter has grown up in the horse world and looked at the bridle and was very confused as to what she was looking at, even she knew it wasn't right.
