UPDATE 12/2014: Well it's been 5 years since my review and I did use these Seattle sports sinks for many years. I still think they are good, but they did sometimes require a little finesse, especially if the table wasn't level. As I am always trying to refine our gear, I have replaced these Seattle Sports sinks with two Prepworks from Progressive International CDT-1 Collapsible Dish Tub. The new collapsible dish tubs now reign supreme in car camping dish washing gear. These Seattle Sports sinks probably pack a little smaller, but I use these Plano 1619-00 56 Quart Tote Tub to carry my car camping gear so either fits. We just had a 20 person Thanksgiving dinner in Death Valley with all the fixens and I washed a truck load of dishes using the new tubs. You can probably go either way, but for big camp, I think I like the collapsible tubs better.

Original Review from 2009:
This is the best sink for car camping. I use two of them, one for wash, one for rinse and they work great. I've had them for years and so far they've held up without any problems. They're rigid enough to remain useful and not flop over. They're tough enough for hot water and big enough to wash a 10" pot. (I car camp with the GSI Bugaboo Pots) The Seattle Sports sinks are light enough and pack up easy. You could take one backpacking, but I think they're more suited for car camping.

WHOOPS!-- I used this sink a second time several months later after some storage, it had lost its rigidity completely. Now it will only hold a little bit of water but wants to continually collapse. I am adjusting my rating, this sink stinks.

Ok, forget what the ad says...it doesn't stand up very well on it's own.

Sadly, it is clear from the reviews that almost no one can improvise how to make this sink work...so let me explain:

I love my Seattle Sports bucket and sink...they are collapsable, solid, dependable and very portable. They also DO NOT stand up on their own well. Not in the real world. So, if you are like me, at a public or national park, camping a lot, you have some form of over-built picnic table nearby. Just set your Sink down on the table...now, go find three sticks in the woods...they need to be about as big around as your thumb, and about three feet long. Tie them together on one end, like you are making a TeePee...and run two of the legs through the handles...one through each end, putting the third leg on the outside, to the back of the sink. Use two more little six-inch strings to tie each handle to its respective stick...and fill your sink with water. If you used your sink to actually go get the water, then have your TeePee prepared already, and be careful running the legs through the handles and lashing them down.

Seriously...you can't ask for a better design in a collapsable sink. Yes, it would probably be great if Seattle Sports provided a wire-formed 'Teepee' to use, instead of having to get three sticks to make it...but hey, you ARE camping, and it isn't rocket science to realize you have to hold up the sides...

The canvas is rubber-coated, solid, good quality...it holds water...it doesn't leak...and it folds up to store in a small space without requiring a pickup truck to pack your gear.

By the way...their folding and roll-up buckets are even better! I keep a 2-gallon one in my pack at ALL TIMES!

Purchased two of these sinks for use washing dishes for our family camping trips. My decision to purchase was based on the great reviews. When we used them to wash dishes we had a lot of difficulty with the sides of the sink not standing up. The sides kept falling down and the water was draining all over our campsite. We have returned them because they proved worthless to use for the intended purpose.

This camp sink was perfect for what we needed on our camping trips.
We used this sink to wash the dishes and another to rinse.

He stood up to everything that was promised and I would highly recommend this product.

It did not collapse or leak and was extremely easy to fold and store

As others have indicated, it has difficulty standing up without additional support. The corners will drop in one direction or another when it is full of water. In order to use as a wash basin, it will require some sort of support.

This sink works great for our camping needs. Love how it folds up, taking very little space while traveling. We may get another one for "rinsing" but for now, we wash the dishes in this and rinse by pouring hot water over the item back into the sink (we don't use that many dishes for the two of us). Very pleased and would definitely purchase again!

PRO
Durable plastic and strong construction - it holds it's weight of dishwater and does the job -- *Best Feature*
Large capacity
Reusable for other storage needs
Collapsible - easy to store
Other uses: load it with ice and drinks for a game
Well-made -- seems like it will last for years with good care

CON
Medium weight -- this is for Car Camping. Don't attempt to bring this on a backpacking trip
Collapses to a flat but wide area -- again not ideal for backpacking, but OK for family trips in the car
