If you own a VW, chances are that the AM on your aftermarket radio needs an amplified antenna and this is the correct part. I bought the non-amplified version and learned that I was not getting AM signal. I listen to AM on my way to work for traffic updates and news bits.

Works as it should for my 2010 VW Jetta TDI with a JVC head unit. Of course it and the car radio don't work as well as the factory model because the factory model uses 2 antenna leads, and picks the clearest signal.

The story goes like this.. bought antenna to install on my VW Jetta MK5, it worked flawlessly for the first few months - good reception, easy installation in all pretty solid. I then decided to add an amplifier to my setup to which I connect the remote wire to the amp. The remote wire in the car is now connected to antenna, amp and parking brake bypass. Needless to say the reception has not been as good any more.. What went wrong here ? does it not have enough juice ? is the amp remote wire interfering ? I'm not sure. The parking brake bypass and antenna played nicely before.. I might go digging to check volts etc to see whats up but its a pain and more importantly reception is so poor now.

Used with Pioneer FH-X700BT in 2002 VW Passat Wagon. Connected the power to the power extension on the Metra 70-9003 Radio Wiring Harness and all is good with the new setup. The reception is stronger than the factory radio (as it, I guess, should be.)

Excellent, Bought this to install an after market stereo in a 2005.5 Jetta (MKV). Unit works great, reception is better than the factory setup. Make sure you hook up the 12 VDC lead for the amplifier.

Only did what it's supposed to do. It was difficult to get the new radio in after placing hardware in cavity behing radio. No system issues. Best products are the ones you never notice after you install. This is one of those products. Safe some money and buy this here. Same as much high priced items on "other" websites. Plug and play. Minus one star since I felt the large plastic pieces could have been made smaller.
