I've seen reviews commenting that this attachment did not stretch the elastic, but it has worked as advertised for me using 3/8" braided elastic. Perhaps they were using a different sort of elastic that is thinner, or did not have it routed correctly. HOT TIP: The tensioning device is a simple dial with settings 0 - 4, with 4 being the most stretch. Take a 10" piece of fabric, dial in a trial setting, and serge the 10" edge. Now measure the resulting length of the edge. If the edge is now 9", you have 10% stretch (10" / 9"). I found I got no noticeable stretch with THIS elastic until increasing to setting 2 on THAT particular elastic. The thickness of your elastic will determine how high you need to set the tension for a desired stretch %.

I love this foot. I have used it to make fitted crib sheets instead of making a casing for the elastic. It works perfectly! Before I used it, I watched the video/cd/dvd that came with my machine about optional feet and I am glad I did. It made set up very easy. By using the regular 4 thread stitch to do the corners and this foot to apply the elastic, I can make a crib/toddler bed crib sheet in less than 30 minutes. I am interested in trying out elastic on some other items and tape application as well, but for the fitted sheet, I am so pleased with the result!

I was skeptical because I saw the reviews of this not pulling the fabric but I'm glad I bought it! Works great guides the elastic so my hands are free to guide the fabric AND it does pull the elastic. At setting 1 there is barely any pull at 2 there is a slight pull 3 is more pull and at 4 you get a great amount of pull. Shipping was fast I ordered Friday and it reached my skybox by Monday morning. Very awesome. Helpful in my swimwear making

the first pic is set at 1 the second at 2 the third at 3 and four is set at 4

this product does NOT stretch the elastic even when you adjust the setting to the highest setting (it still is too far away to even touch the elastic). truly disappointed. i have an elastic foot for a different machine that works great so i wanted one for my brother as well ... don't waste your money on this. it's worthless. i wish i could return it (but it's past the return date) HORBBILE PRODUCT!!!

This is just the BEST serger accessory I have discovered in awhile! I learned about it while taking an online serger class on CRAFTSY.COM and it looked liked a great tool. Thus far I have only practiced with it, but am amazed at how easily elastic can be added to the border of knits. Getting the tensions right requires a little trial and error and varies by fabric, but the results are wonderful.

Well first off the little instructions that came with the foot are LACKING, and than the foot its self was kind of dissapointing, it doesnt put much tension on the elastic so you still need to put gentle tension on the elastic. I have decided to make a casing for elastic instead of using the foot whenever possible but its better than a zig zag.

This elastic application foot works well however if one is sewing in the round (waist, leg hole) it's not clear how to use the product. Obviously starting the elastic application makes sense, but what do you do when you finish the enclosed circular sewing? Youtube tutorials don't explain this type of application, they only show how to show using this foot on a straight edge. Not sure if I would buy again.
