On the plates, purple irises on long delicate stems span rim to rim, next to shadowy accent lines in lavender and blue tones. The pristine white, green-rimmed pieces bring a sense of serenity to everyday living. Included in this 16-piece set are four place settings, each consisting of a 10-1/4-inch dinner plate, 7-1/4-inch salad plate, 18-ounce cereal bowl, and 16-ounce cooler made of real glass decorated with the same iris design. Only the bowl is unadorned.

Like all Corelle dinnerware, Shadow Iris is made of laminated layers of glass that produce incredible strength while being very lightweight, thin, and stackable. I ordered 2 sets of these dishes. 1 arrived fine and we obsolutely love them. #2 arrived broken, Amazon replaced it ASAP. However they replaced it with another set that came broken. Now they don't know if they can replace it a third time because it's a "widespread" problem. Dissapointing because I do love the set I have. Looking around at reviews of the other corelle pieces I wanted, a lot of them are coming broken to.

Twenty years and they still look terrific! I bought these Corelle Shadow Iris sets a little over 20 years ago as I was going off to college. We're still using them and now having three boys, we've only broken 2 or 3 dishes (preschoolers dropping them on the hardwood floor); otherwise they still look like new. The pattern was discontinued for a few years at the end of the 1990's, they then brought the pattern back.

I purchased this set in 1986 when I was 17 years old for my hope chest. I moved away from my parents shortly after. I still use this same set today. They still look great! I have purchased other Corell dishes with a kind of fluted edges and they seem more prone to scratches. I highly recomend this product!
