3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price....but not audiophile quality, March 6, 2006
By Alan Seals (Midland, Texas) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I cannot afford to spend several hundred dollars on headphones, so I decided to try to find what I could get under $100, preferably way under and still get quality. When I saw that I could get an industry first subwoofer and a ninety dollar headphone for about $40, I decided to go for it.

They are worth the money you will pay on Amazon. They do look and feel cheap, but I still think they will last. Their sound is average at best without the subwoofer........very little bass.
The subwoofer does a lot for the sound. They really do more than vibrate.......they really give good quality bass.

The problem is the high end and midrange is lacking and a bit subdued. If you like rock or hiphop, or if you use it for gaming, this will be a really good headphone and a good buy. But these are not audiophile high end headphones by any means. Though I kept the Skull Crushers, I decided to upgrade to the Grado SR-60's for another $30. They were worth the cost and are the best deal for the money. I just depends on what you are looking for in a headphone and how much you can afford to and want to spend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, August 5, 2005
Great sound for the bucks! and do like the sub-woofer effect...which you can control so not to be to blasting! wear these a few hours a day and are rather comfy. not too bad for the money.and a battery seems to last forever!..been using the same one for a couple of weeks now on a average of 4 hours a day.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT FOR GAMES AND MUSIC, December 14, 2005
By A Gamer at Heart (Agoura Hills, CA USA) - See all my reviews

These appear to be rebadged AOpen HP-590 headphones, which explains why I haven't been able to find the AOpen's here or elsewhere since they are now renamed.

These headphones are an excellent bargain. I have been using the same pair for almost two years. I bought two pairs thinking they would break quickly like other brand subwoofer headphones I have previously used. Thankfully, they have proven very durable despite my dropping them while still plugged in many times. Once you use these for gaming or music, it is hard to go back. It's like being in a car with a nice subwoofer.
