Installed this on my basement door. There is a little gap inbetween the inserts but it's not noticeable from the outside - my fault anyway for not paying attention to the dimensions. By garage door they may be referring to the actual bay door and not a door in your garage.
Otherwise it functions normally, easy to install, even comes with a template for cutting.

Cats are thoroughly enjoying it - they went from meowing everytime they wanted in/out 97x a day, to playing with the flap on their new cat door all night long.. -_-

This product is terrible. The in/out locks broke. The first one after installing never worked then the second one broke within a few days locking my cat out. Poor design. A replacement wouldn't work. Now I have a hole in the door and a crappy flap.

I love the way it looks , just wish door closed every time. It looks good, fits tightly into space, and was easy to install. I placed heavy magnets on each side of the window near the bottom which helped but sometimes it still doesn't close all the way. This happened with the last cat door so I'm guessing this is an issue with all cat doors.

Easy to install! I installed in my garage door, warning though because it is thicker for more of a door fit. I just filled the gap with some caulk and it looks and works great.
