It features Faroudja's DCDi (Directional Correlational Deinterlacing) video processing, which helps to eliminate jagged edges that appear with progressive-scan displays for a smoother picture. The 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing feature detects and compensates film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theater-like experience at home.

It has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner and it's capable of displaying high definition TV signals with an optional receiver. It features a 1268 x 768 resolution, 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio for optimal letterbox movie watching and compatibility with 1080p/720p/480p/480i HD formats. It also features a 500-1 contrast ratio, 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, 170-degree viewing angle, built-in stereo speakers capable of SRS virtual surround sound, parental control with V-chip, and PC display capability. bought this tv for our guest room, but have several other much higher priced hdtv in our other rooms, can honestly say that the picture is just as good on the audiovox as the others, just make sure you have the right signal to get the best picture (hd). its so amazing how cheap these hdtvs are getting.

This is used as a video presentation monitor and it works great - can switch from 16 to 4 ratio which I need - picture resolution is perfect. Have never used for TV - so don't know about reception.
