Product Description

Sinking its teeth into the rotting flesh of our paranoid times, Feeding the Masses is a biting social commentary and a vicious, brutal and apocalyptic zombie film directed by Richard Griffin and written by Trent Haaga (American Nightmare, Citizen Toxie IV).

In a nation dominated by mass media manipulation, rampant consumerism and a brainwashing government, a zombie epidemic known as the Lazarus Virus is bringing the recently deceased back to life. As the dead feed upon the living, Channel 5 TV News feeds its audience a false picture of the danger, death and doom that is close at hand. The station’s lead anchorwoman learns of a government-mandated broadcast blackout of all walking dead news and live footage, so she enlists the help of her trusted cameraman and a demented military guard to spread the word any way they can. With the truth on their side and flesh-hungry monsters gathering in numbers and strength, the trio must warn unsuspecting citizens about the nightmare at their doorsteps…before it’s too late. News at 11…

4.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting Idea Done Well, May 25, 2005
I really enjoyed this movie, as soon as it started I realized I would. While watching Romero's trilogy I always love the news scenes, as things start to fall apart and the media struggles to remain calm - and I wished it were expanded upon. Well, here it is, and it was very entertaining.

Dripping in sarcasm, at first the film seemed a little too cheesy and the performances too over-the-top for me, but as it went on my opinion changed. I can really see my friends and I behaving in that bizarre a manner in that situation. In fact, the exaggerated manner of the film worked to keep me guessing as to whether this was a serious zombie flick or a parody. I think the former, but that's my opinion.

Shades of "Stacy" were visible in Feeding the Masses, maybe. It could be an homage, some inspiration or just coincidence, but either way it was the flavor of funny I don't mind in my horror flicks.

1.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE LOVE LOVE "B" zombie flicks but...this was just a cinematic travesty....., September 15, 2005
What a brilliant idea. Seriously, Trent Haaga's concept was great....everything else was the opposite.

Given the choice of re-watching this brown steamer or a chainsaw in the face i'd at least review my options before answering....

If you want non mainstream zombie films look to "Stacy" or "Wild Zero"....Even "Dead & Breakfast"...

I hate to leave such harsh words but, I can't get the time back that is forever gone I gave to this 3rd rate cable crapper.

1.0 out of 5 stars pathetic......., September 21, 2005
if I could give this movie 0 stars it would still be too much.
Bad acting(looks like a bunch of local theater types to me), bad or no special effects, and an obvious, hackeneyed, derivative plot. I love zombie films and horror in general so I am not speaking as a typical movie fan. I know horror movies, I collect horror movies, and trust me this is no horror movie....this movie is a horror!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good film, but slow and talky
Not even close to George Romero's films, I think that the director tried, but it's too slow to be a great film. Feeding the Masses is okay for a b-movie, but still not the best.
