I have a wall of my garage covered with these brackets (and some 14" and 22" brackets). I have the brackets heavily loaded with steel tubing, lumber, and parts. I believe the 300 pound rating is actually conservative, which is amazing. With shelving screwed down so the brackets can't shift side to side, I believe these brackets will hold more than 300 pounds, provided it is loaded evenly.

If you are planning to use these for storing heavy stuff up off of your garage floor, as I am, make sure you use long lag bolts to secure the bracket to the wall at the top. Long drywall screws can be used in the middle of the bracket without problems, it's the top that you need to worry about most.
