It works as good as can be expected. From a distance not noticeable.

I dropped a cigarette on a wood desk. It left a round burn. I used a hot rag to get as much soot off as I could, then used sandpaper very very carefully to get rid of the black. I then used the wax by heating it a bit then rubbing, then used another brand of pens that had more color choices along with the light pen in this kit. Then used more wax. I would wipe it down with water and a rag in between each pass after about 30 seconds.

Yes after each wipe off wax and some of the stain came off. But it was the best way I found. Just constant back and forth. I got it good enough it can't be noticed as a dime size cigarette burn from a distance. Now you need to be within 2 feet of it and just notice a bit of discoloration.

I really like the markers. They've saved me many times. However, the wax "crayons" are nothing to brag about. I wish the markers could be purchased separately.

I gave it five stars for the markers. Was tempted to drop the rating a couple of stars because of the colored wax. I have no use for those pieces.

This repair kit simply does not work! I have blonde wood in my dining room and dark (cherry and walnut) in my living room. Both have small/thin scratches and larger gouges. I tried the wax stick on the larger but it would not stick to the wood! I did it right and followed the instructions, but the wax just flaked off. The shape of the stick wont even let you get into the scratch. I had to push hard to even transfer the slightest amount onto the wood. What did stay, left a shiny noticeable residue but not on the scratch. The markers seemed almost dried out and did not help. You will not like this! Old English scratch cover workes WAY better!

I had the same issue as a previous reviewer. The marker did not color the scratch but did leave a super shiny halo AROUND the scratch. So now my kind of annoying scratch has become a very obvious blemish. With a neon sign pointing to it. I wish I had not used this product. It definitely made things worse.

I have emailed DAP to see if maybe I was sent a bad batch, also to see if they can tell me how to get rid of the shine. Elbow grease is not working.

This product was not as described - the "wax" is very stiff and doesn't press into gauges. The coloured pens only come in 2 colours and do not match my dark wood cabinets. All in all not a great product and I do not recommend it.

The wax didn't work very well for me, but the dark stain pen was PERFECT. So easy to apply and completely hides the knicks in my floor. Would definitely buy the stain pen again, especially if I could buy it on its own.
