I am a pretty consistent indoor and outdoor cycler. I bought a indoor cycle and wanted to have some workouts to follow at home even though I have done enough cycling to know the basic routines. This is part of a 4 pack, and really is a pretty decent workout. My heart rate was up and I was definitely sweating by the end, although not to the level of the gym Spin classes. The format of the workout is pretty basic consisting of three "loops", with each loop being the same workout: 1) Flat road with increasing resistance hand position #1; 2) running with more resistance at position #2; a set of about 5 sets of jumps at position #2; seated climb with more resistance; finishing the loop with a standing climb at position #3.

My main issue with this video is that the instructor reminds of a "spin bot". There is an odd, cultish like atomosphere to the class with everyone looking adoringly at the instructor while he continuously talks about the joy of spinning and being your best self. Ugh! However, once you do this once, you can probalby mute the sound and play your own music b/c instructions appear on the screen before each new segment, and because it repeats the same loop 3 times you know what is coming next.

I will do this video again, but with the sound muted. I would probably not have bought this video had I previewed it first. I have not tried the other 3 videos yet, but if it is the same instructor, I am certain I will feel the same. I recommend investigating other brands. I decided to go with the Spin brand DVDs because Spin is highly respected, but that does not appear to translate to the home instructional videos.

I just bought a spin bike, I never took a spin class in my life and I bought this dvd not knowing what to expect.
The instructor is great. The music is great. The workout is great. This dvd will not get old because you set the
resistance and just keep building from there. Fun workout. Great purchase.

I really want to love this spinning DVD, and in honesty, the workout is great. BUT...the strobe lights are AWFUL! I like to work out in the morning without the overhead lights on and the flickering lights sometimes give me a headache and make me stop and put a different dvd in. I sometimes wonder if my neighbors wonder what on earth is going on at 6am in my house. I have actually watched the video and just written down what the workout is and the timing of each thing because its easier to just use a stopwatch and do it on my own than suffer the strobe light headache.

For a quickie 30 minute spin workout, it delivered. But it had the usual annoyingly peppy, disco-lit, shots of butts in spandex direction and visuals. I would love something a little less boring and annoying. I find it really hard to do this one more than a few times, its just too annoying. Maybe next time don't show a class, just have the instruction and an image of an open road. But, as a former long distance cyclist (50-100 mile rides), I am not a huge fan of the disco biking thing. I would like something more realistic and less like an aerobics instructor on a bike.

Never took a spin class before but have been into fitness for years with a home gym, treadmill, and other equipment. Thought it was time spouse and I kicked it up a notch to get beyond our plateau! Spouse said it didn't take long to break out in a sweat!!! :-D Instructor is helpful for newbies. Though it's challenging, you can modify it to your fitness level. You can feel the work out; the cool down and stretching feels wonderful. You actually feel good afterwards! I recommend this dvd.

I would highly recommend this video. The video is high energy and you can achieve a good cardio workout in 30 minutes. The only drawback is that the instructor talks too much but otherwise it is worth the investment.
