I used to buy these bullies from my local store, but they got real selfish after the dog food scare and raised the price to $34 a bag. This price is the best. My suggestion to those of you who purchased...buy the 12", as others have said they can easily be cut in two. I use my garden branch cutter.
Keep them in the freezer. Your dog won't mind and the smell and freshness will keep. Give it frozen or let it thaw.
I have bought bigger and American made bullies, but my dog prefers this brand.

My primary complaint is that the chews are supposed to range in size from 4"-6". Not a single piece in the bag exceeded 4" and most of them were quite thin. My 45 lb dog consumed them in very short order. They really are only adequate for small dogs. If you have a medium size dog, I would suggest buying a larger size and cutting them in half, if necessary.

I was really leery about getting these since I'd read several reviews complaining about the smell, but they were so much cheaper than what I could buy at the store, and my (teething) puppy just loves them, that I decided to go ahead and get them. I'm very pleased with my purchase! They were a bit smelly when I opened the bag, but I let them air out and the smell is much better. They do smell some but no more than the ones I've bought at my local pet store, so unless you really can't tolerate the smell of the ones you currently buy, don't pass these up becuase of other reviews. My pup is very pleased with them. The sizes were mostly around 5"-6" and about 1/4" to 1/2" diameter, but there were some shorter pieces in the pack. There were about 25 pieces in the bag, and about 5 of those were the shorter ones- some of which were only 3" but 1" around. I will definitely be buying these again. For those that are wondering, they are a product of Brazil.

These bully sticks stunk so badly that after I gave two of them to my 70 pound dog, he almost smelled like the sticks! Needless to say, I gave the remainder of them to a man whose dogs live outdoors. The price wasn't worth it as I went to a local store and paid three times as much for some bully sticks, but they didn't smell.

I have ordered bully sticks a few times and been happy with my purchase (despite the smell). This last time I ordered this product I received bugs in the bully sticks and didn't notice until after I gave my dogs a couple of these sticks. Make sure to check these before giving them to your pets. Fortunately, my dogs did not get sick. I immediately threw out this product; I couldn't stomach keeping it around long enough to send back as a return. I will never purchase this product again.

I've ordered the 12 inch thinner sticks for my dog before and he loves them. I ordered these by accident last time (wasn't paying enough attention!!) and although the dog still loves them they smell incredibly bad! The longer, thinner sticks no not have this bad smell (unless you stick them right by your nose I suppose). As soon as I opened the pack of these sticks the smell infused the entire house and when I gave the dog one his paws carried the horrible smell for days afterward. I finally put him in the sink and washed his paws.

I'd recommend the longer 12 inch sticks over these simply for the smell. I ended up just throwing this pack out and ordering the longer ones.

Here's the deal...

I buy a bag of these every other month for my dogs, ever since 2012. Over the years I've bought this in store (which I prefer, since I can see the size and smell how the bag is, but since these are so popular they're not always in store in my local pet supply), and here on amazon. The bags contents ALWAYS vary. Even in store. These are bull pizzle... what do you expect. They're animal parts that vary in thickness.

These are small sized sticks 4-6inches. Therefore, these are for small dogs. I'm not sure why people with medium to large dogs are buying these, then complaining about the size. That's like buying a children's meal for an adult and complaining the given food size isn't enough.
The average adult finger is about 4 inches. Look at fingers on your hand if you don't want to get a ruler. Four inches isn't long. If you buy something that says 4-6 inches, expect to get something that is exactly that. If you want longer ones, buy the large sized bag.

I have a 15 lb dog, and a 8 lb dog. The 15 lb one can finish a thinner stick in 10 minutes, or a thicker one in 30-1 hr. Small dogs, small sized treats. Essentially it is a dried piece of meat. If you want a dog chew that will last all day buy some antlers or Himalayan dog chews.

Also, a word of advice to those who are posting that "I fed one to my dog, and they had upset stomach/loose stools/etc". This is like ANY other food. You have to incorporate it into the dogs diet gradually, just as you do when switching dog food. If I run out one month and just don't stock up, when I do, I always gradually introduce it back into my dogs' diet. I let them chew maybe 5-10 minutes the first few days depending on the size, then gradually increase.Read more ›

I've ordered these a couple of times and I've noticed highly variable product quality in terms of sizes and odor. The most recently bag contained mostly smaller bully sticks that reeked terribly... so much so that I had to wash my hands after handling them. This is odd because I don't remember the previous bag being so smelly and, amazingly, the pack I just bought at a store (US-made) don't smell at all!

Worst of all this most recent batch consistently gave my dog loose stools. I don't trust pet food and treat products made in China or South America any more. From now on I'm going to pay a premium for US and Canada made products.
