This kept 2 small goldfish alive for about 10 days, in a normal goldfish bowl, no water circulation. The package says it needs water circulation for the tablet to dissolve right (or something like that), but my fish ending up eating it fine without that, there were a lot of little marks on the tablet so I'm sure they fish figured out to just start pecking at it and it came off for them ok. The fish didn't seem any worse or better when we left, normal size and swimming fine. The water was quite cloudy, but that is to be expected for such a small bowl and only 2 fish, there was enough food here for 20x that based on what mine ate, but my 2 fish are quite small & young.

All in all, I'd buy again in heartbeat just because I know it will work and won't have to wonder with one of the other gel tabs, etc. on Amazon.

I bought 1 of these for 2 small goldfish in a 10 gallon tank for a 6 day usage. I put it in the tank the day before we left. It sank to the bottom and started disintegrating right away (I was worried it wouldn't because there isn't a heater in the tank, but there is a pump). The fish were curious about it and began pecking at it right away. When we got home after our trip - it was completely disintegrated. The water was not cloudy. The fish were alive and healthy. I would have 5 starred this review but I'm not sure how long it actually lasted. I would buy it again, but not be gone longer than 6 days.

Worked great for our one feeder goldfish in a 5 gallon tank. My roommate and I left for spring break and came back expecting the worst, but lo and behold our fish was still alive and the water was still extremely clear. no residue anywhere. This was quite the surprise because our fish was battling ich the week leading up to our departure. We came back and he didn't have any problems whatsoever. Will buy again.

This is a standard plaster of Paris vacation feeder. Before dropping it in and leaving home you need to do a dry run and observe. Fish don't all instantly know to look on the floor for food and different feeders work best from different kinds of fish. These worked well for me; about the same as any similar product and of good overall quality.

One goldfish in a 5 gallon tank. I used the vacation food to feed the fish for 5 days while we were gone. The fish survived and was healthy. The water stayed crystal clear and the feeder was easy to remove when we returned. It stayed all together in one piece. Will purchase again. It is a little bit pricey but other than that works great.

I've purchased this twice now for two different vacations. I have 3 small goldfish currently. The first purchase was for a week long vacation. I did not test these out prior to leaving so I honestly cannot say how long they would last but when I came home after 7 days there was still a little bit of it left. The second time was for 9 days and when I came home it was just about gone. So it appears that it does seem to last the 10 days that it advertises but it may depend on how many fish you have. For my circumstances I would buy again as they seemed to do the trick. All of my fish are still alive when I return from my trips.
