Finally, Pilot/Namiki are making these in colors other than the basic black, blue, and blue-black! Thought the purple is my favorite, I'd enjoy trying other colors as well - like a peacock blue (teal), red or pink. I've never had a problem with these cartridges (unlike others) and have never had any to leak or dry out. Definitely a quality product.

Much like the Namiki green, this is not the most exciting purple. It's one of the dullest purples I've ever used. There's no shading or complexity. Of the four purples I've tried - Namiki, Herbin, Skrip, and Levenger, I like Levenger's purple best and Namiki's the least.

Also, like Namiki's green, it's slightly bluer than I would like. Many people would find this to be a plus, though, and it's just a matter of taste.

Like the green, it is a well-behaved ink. It plays nicely with most papers and doesn't bleed through readily. It flows well from both my fine Pilot 78 and my Plumix and washes out of the pen easily.

I bought this to use in a Pilot Plumix fountain pen. Works well and lasts pretty long. The purple is pretty dark (unlike the picture might lead you to believe). You can tell it's purple, but it's dark enough that it's reasonable to read lots of text (as in a letter).

I like purple color ink for my daily use, and always enjoyed the Pentel Energel Violet ink. This one I got for the Namiki Vanishing point fountain pen. The ink dries fast and writes evenly and cleanly, but it's a little too light for business use. Better for decorative usage, like personal notes or calligraphy.

I've used this ink in three different vanishing point pens and a plumix. It does not flow at all. The minute I switched back to regular blue or black, the pens were fine. Either this is a bad batch or watch out for the colored inks. Similar problems occurred using the green ink.

I love the purple color, and you can't beat the cost. Both my daughters use the inks as well and it sure goes fast that way. They just HAD to have this color. It's a fluid vivid color. Of course, that's what I expect from PILOT. Thanks!!

A great product. I bought the cartridges for the Pilot Plumix pen. Another great product, BUT I can't find where to buy the pens. The place I bought mine has run out and I can't find anymore anywhere. A shame because it is a wonderful pen and it will be hard to sell cartridges if no one can find pens to go with them.
