When CH Hanson makes claims that this tool is 7x faster than their competitors offerings, I think this might be overstatement. However, it is definitely faster. I bought one of these as a trial and I have to say that out of the box it became my favorite locking clamp. It is fast and easy. Typically, the need for one of these clamps comes when you are working with something, trying to hold it flush, on a mark, etc. There is no pain with this clamp. Just position the clamp on your work and squeeze the handles and the pads come together and lock without any problems. This is the way to do it, defintely.

The only bad thing about this set of clamps is that it is made in China. However, don't feel too bad--I don't think there is a single locking plier made in the USA anymore. And these Chinese-made clamps are really quite well made too, so at least you are getting a quality product.

Go get these clamps and make your life easier when it comes to working with your tools.

Works really well I loved them. I buy new ones every 6 months. They stop working. I know they say u can return them but I like them so much I just buy new ones n give the old ones away which start to work when they want to. I left my pair at a o.t. job I was doing and I had to borrow my 4mans 6" clamps and OMG. The same day I ordered an extra pair. I do a lot of framing with the grid-x system. But they're also great for regular framing.

I have the 7" 10" 11" and (2) 19" one without swivel pads. One of the 19" has extension arms -"U" shaped channels -that are slightly wavy or distorted but this has no impact on how well the tool works and for me is no reason to return. Otherwise the build quality and feel of each clamp is excellent. I am not so sure the texture grip slips any less than a standard grip but when I want to grab a self-adjusting clamp from the rack under my welding table it helps tell them apart from the regular manually adjusted clamps. The 7" doesn't fully release when I squeeze the release trigger at the tail end - at first I thought I would return the 7" but in use this is actually rather handy as it is the most-springy of all and it allows me get my fingers out of the way before nudging the handles open. Whiplash on the larger clamps is not an issue perhaps due to their overall weight.
My hands are large I can work the two smaller models easily with one hand while the 11" is a bit of an effort and the 19" is really a two-handed clamp mostly due to weight. There would be relatively few clamping positions that could be attained using one hand on the 19" clamp. When clamping it helps to pay attention to the pads lining up to each other, otherwise they can clamp and then slip.
There is bit of a learning curve on these clamps, but their operation is nothing short of brilliant and there is no way I would do without them. Surprisingly their clamping force is excellent. I expected them to be weaker than a standard clamp but they are clearly stronger applying greater clamping pressure for a given hand pressure. The release lever is more accessible than on a Vice-Grip. I have only just now looked at the chhanson.com website where they claim 7x faster 2x stronger and 100% easier.Read more ›

Not quite as nice as the Kreg version but absolutely great...and a push when you consider price point. The Kreg has a little more jaw capacity and operates a bit more fluidly but I am buying more of both clamps. These things rock.

These are GREAT. Just arrived a few days ago so I can't speak to the longevity but as far as the function is concerned they are a winner. I inadvertantly ordered the 7 inch but they have taken over where my existing 11" Vise Grips were commonly used. I have 11" CH Hansons otw and intend to order several more. I have plenty of VG but these are that good.

I bought four of these clamps a year ago and am about to buy a few more. I am continually using them in my workshop and I couldn't be more pleased. One reviewer said they pinched his hand and were a safety issue. Well, I did get pinched once when using them and quickly figured out that if you don't put your hand where it will get pinched, it won't get pinched. Problem solved. I cracked the mechanism on one of the clamps by clamping something thicker than I should have. The handles wouldn't squeeze together, so I put way more force to the tool than I should have. I was disappointed that it broke. I mean, a pair of good ol' Vice Grips wouldn't break. But this tool won't take that kind of abuse. I sent it back to the company and told them in a note that they had a great tool but I was disappointed that it broke. They sent me a new clamp at no cost. That's a good company. If you don't force these clamps to do what they're not engineered to do, they'll serve you very well, and I see no reason why they won't last a lifetime. Like I said, I'm back here to buy a few more. They are HANDY and CONVENIENT.
