Not silicone spray. It might have some silicone in it, but it smells just like regular liquid wrench. If you want liquid wrench, get liquid wrench. If you want silicone spray, get something else.

I got this to use on a treadmill and after one squirt, my treadmill smell like a rusty bolt that I sprayed a bunch of liquid wrench on. I'm done with liquid wrench. I don't need to use products from a company that just relabels one product and calls it something completely different.

I bought this because I ran out of my CRC silicone spray CRC (05174-12PK) Heavy Duty Silicone Lubricant - 11 oz., (Pack of 12).
The other guy is right, this liquid wretch is a petroleum penetrating oil like WD-40 with silicone in it. It smells strong of petroleum distillate and it doesn't go away. If you get it on you you'll feel like you've been working on your car all day changing the oil or something - gross. I already have penetrating oil, now I have even more. WTF. You wouldn't want to spray this on a Rubiks cube.

Liquid Wrench is a BS knockoff company, anyway. Steer clear

Works well BUT I wish I would have reordered the 3M Spray due to the nasty kerosene smell in the Liquid Wrench spray. I'll use it for outdoor stuff only.

Great stuff. I use it in place of WD-40 for household use. It goes on and dries clear and leaves a light protective film. It is not a penetrating oil and won't undreeze rusted bolts, but it's a great general purpose household lubricant and I have used it in a wide variety of tasks from lubing door hinges to curing squeaking leaf springs on my truck.

Reading through the reviews and 2 negatives keep popping up: the smell and the fact that it's not 100% silicone. The smell is noticeable but doesn't bother me or strike me as any more potent that WD-40 or similar. It dissipates rather quickly. If it is a concern I would suggest opening the windows or ventilating the area. Also, looking at the MSDS sheet, I found that this spray is 70% Stoddard solvent (paint thinner). I'm not a scientist and I'm sure some armchair commando will come along shorty to correct me, but I believe this helps the silicone penetrate and then evaporates as paint thinner typically does, leaving the film I was referencing earlier...

The only real negative I'm expereinced with it is that it can be a little hard to control the flow when tackling small jobs like door hinges (as in a lot comes out per spray) but a light finger and a rag will take care of it. All in all a great product.

Doesn't seem to stay on, or last very long. Bought it to lube up some rubber parts on my car and a few other metal parts. The car started squeaking again after about 3 days. It did not rain at all here after I put it on and I did not wash the car either. stuff just did not stay on for long at all. Also used it on a compost tumbler to stop the squeaking when turning it. Did not last long on the axle for that either. Maybe lasted 4 days. I ended up using butter on the compost tumbler which worked for a few weeks. Also tried this on a door hinge which did last about a week but that's probably because we don't open it very often. Not really impressed with this stuff. When it arrived, the lid was smashed to pieces and the straw was bent too. Was not happy about that. Had to super glue the lid back together and luckily I had another straw from another lubricant spray that fit on this spray can. I won't be buying this again. I should have figured that a spray wouldn't last long but I did want to try it. Now I know.

When I had to stop my windows on the car from squeaking, someone suggested this product so I ordered it. Since then, I've used it all over the house to stop doors from squeaking. It's got a great penetrating ability but stays on the surface as well, not drying out rubber and such. I'll take this over WD40 any day.

After looking up how to fix my slow power windows in my car, I purchased this. Like an idiot, I also sprayed it on the top and bottom seals in addition to the side guides. After I finished cleaning my window it went up and down like new again. I used very little to accomplish what I needed, but I really have no idea what else this stuff is supposed to be used for. But I don't care, I fixed my window for under $4.

I wish I had this stuff years ago. Its great for just about everything. I use it on hinges around my property, house, trailers, gates, ect. I sprayed it in all of my locks, door seals of my vehicles (So they don't freeze shut). I have even sprayed it over all the rubber and plastic pieces of my tractor that sits out in the weather all year. (Keeps all of it looking new and seems to protect it well. )

This stuff is way better than WD40. All the lubrication and protection without the oily residue.

I highly recommend silicone spray.
