This product has withstood the test of high traffic, unfavorable conditions, and several months of use with no wear.

I used this product by directly anchoring it to a concrete walkway (where it is exposed to the elements in Florida including heat, flooding downpours, and even some corrosive salty air), in order to stop a screen door leading to my front porch from banging into landscaping pavers. The door leads directly to the house, and it has probably hit the doorstop literally thousands of times.

I went outside to take a peak at it again while typing this. It looks exactly the same as the day I drilled the hole into the walkway. What more can I ask for?

The metal area near the bottom and where it raises up to surround the rubber stop is really weak. If you use any type of heavy door especially commercial doors this will not be sufficient. I broke two of them before buying a higher version from Lowes (the bottom has more height and thus a lot more strength).

These are fine for light doors but keep in mind the weak point for heavier doors.

I thought these door stoppers looked nice so I bought them for my new home. However, in addition to the screw that goes through the front as pictured, there is a whole set up behind the grey pad that wants you to connect it from under the floor or something. I just used the front screw and I see why they have the other one, it keeps it from moving. But if its screwed in tight and lined up exactly with the door, it wont move enough to make a difference

This was purchased to keep a bathroom door at opening from hitting an oversize shower enclosure fixture--the bow type device sometimes seen in motel rooms. I was concerned at purchase about the rigidity of the fixture on the floor because of the single screw mounting design--would it be sufficient?

Upon opening the package came the great surprise: not mentioned in the description of the device is a post that protrudes from the clam-shell portion of the fixture about a quarter inch below the base of the device. This is to give the rigidity I was concerned about. Installation is to first drill a hole in the floor the same diameter as the protruding post at location for placement of the door stop. This puts the fixture in a snug fit and the mounting screw is then attached.

This door stop works great. The mounting post makes it a super well designed little device--and it is rock solid and is precisely the unit to have if the application and design are what you are looking for.

This is a fine product but since it comes with absolutely NO instructions of any kind, I'm forced to deduct a star. I even went to National Hardware's website and there's really nothing of use there either! Luckily I'm pretty mechanically inclined and pride myself with having a pretty good amount of common sense (IMHO, of course), I figured it out after looking it over closely. You will need to drill TWO holes to mount this stop. One hole is for the screw that goes through the hole in the front of the rubber bumper (shown in picture) and one hole is for the machined pin that comes in the hardware bag (not shown). This "machined-pin" is silver in color and is threaded on one end. You screw the pin into the bottom of the stop (through a hole in the rubber bumper) until it is snug. Of course, if you're drilling into concrete, stone, or even through ceramic tile, you will need to use masonry drill bits as general purpose drill bits designed to drill wood or metal will NOT work here. If you've never used a masonry drill bit, there are several good YouTube videos showing you how it's done. You'll need to drill a 1/4" hole in the floor for the pin and a 5/16" hole for the screw and it's plastic insert (if the floor is concrete or stone). If the floor is wood, the hole for the screw will be smaller as you won't be using the plastic screw insert. You'll just be drilling a small hole to serve as a "pilot hole" for the screw. Regardless of what the flooring material is, the rear hole for the threaded pin will need to be 1/4". BTW - Make sure you drill the both holes deep enough for what's going into them (the pin and the screw & plastic insert). I put a little slow-curing epoxy in both holes before inserting the plastic screw insert into the slab floor.Read more ›

I can no longer find these locally, so I was very happy to see it available on Amazon. Best doorstop ever! The rubber bumper is nice and thick, and lasts a long time. I've used many different types of doorstop over the years in my old house, but this one is definitely a cut above the rest. It's substantial, and is available in different metal finishes that can be coordinated with the other metals in your room. I may just buy a whole bunch of them and squirrel them away for future use... that's how much I like them! Highly recommend!
