Pfffttt bought a set of these last summer. Waste of money. This year I went and searched white foam. Found some 1/2 foam, in white foatm(matches the air conditioner and you can't notice it), and a roll of two sided tape. Cut it down to exactly what I need. For 12 bucks and a little space in the closet I can insulate the AC for the next ten summers.

Fond these by chance last year and now I wouldn't use anything but to insulate around the side panels of my air conditioners. The panels provide superior protection. I have less hot air coming into the rooms, which means I get to hace cooler air stay where it belongs.

And the price was right. And shipping was fast. So what more can you expect from grey foam? Well, the glue edge is pretty much non-functional - we had to resort to duct tape. and they really darken the room a lot by blocking out all light around the unit. HOWEVER they do insulate well enough when installed properly.

These are piecces of foam, plain and simple. There is no "insulation." They work best if you put them over existing panel for extra protection.

Perhaps I expected too much. The wash-board surface overemphasizes the thickness of the foam; it's really not all that thick. There is no wind-break on either side, and it's not a closed-cell foam, so it doesn't stop drafts and the insulating properties are not all that great. And there is no rigidity, so it it's really windy outside the product wants to buckle. I can't help but think that if somebody really wanted to create a high-performance insulating panel it wouldn't be all that hard. But I have to hand it to the Thermwell guys: this product is about as close to pure profit as one can get. The packaging probably cost as much to make as the product.

The description for this is a bit misleading. It didn't work as I expected. The panels are thick foam, which is good. They were easy to cut to fit the area they were to be put in. It did have a tape strip but where it was located did me no good. I wasn't able to use the sticky part. I had to wedge the foam into place. The insulating factor works pretty well, so overall, I'm ok with it.

I adapted it to fit into the side panels of my Frigidaire 10,000 BTU. Of course, had to do some trimming. Helps keep the cold air in during the summer, and cold air cannot come through the side panels in the winter. Although I wish the material was a little thinner for a better fit, it still works very well.

This is a great product if you want the extra to keep out the hot air when your air conditioner is running and lowering your electric bill. I put this in front of my regular side panels because there were some gap on the sides allowing hot air to get in and this took care of the problem. The panels are nice and thick as to now tear easily. I just cut the excess off and the fit was perfect. I would definitely buy again. Thanks Amazon
