This camcorder makes possible the high-performance recording of video and still images with the incorporation of a 10x optical zoom lens and Canon's DIGIC DV image processor.

The Photo DV-enabled DC 10 offers a complementary color filter and a 1.3-megapixel CCD; the CCD utilizes 690,000 pixels when recording video images on DVD, and 1.23-million pixels when recording still images on card media. In addition to featuring a 2-way still-photo function, which supports the capture of images onto either a miniSD card or a DVD, the DC 10 DVD camcorder offers a DVD Random Access function, allowing users to start filming or replay video without having to fast forward or rewind, and a Finalize button, which enables users to easily "close" their video for viewing with standard DVD players or DVD-drive-equipped computers.

This digital camcorder feature outstanding design and operation enhancements, offering a variety of convenient and practical functions, including a backlight button for the LCD monitor, which allows users to view images in bright conditions, and an easy-to-use menu screen. My title says it all. I've lost footage several times, corrupt discs all the time. The worst part is, it makes you think you're recording, and then you go to play it back, and it's not there. This is a certified piece of junk. Mine may just be a lemon based on other reviewers, but why take the risk when it comes to recording fun memories?

I bought this for my sister as a wedding present. The camera has a lot of good features. But when they used a set of DVDs on it, they found that only 1/2 of the discs they used would record correctly. not sure if the problem is with the disks or formatting.

More importantly, this camcorder does not allow for the video to be transferred to Apple Mac's. It only allows images taken with the camera to be transferred. This is a big disappointment and we will have to sell this camera on Ebay now or something.

Usually i'm a big fan of Canon camcorders and camera's. I'm on my 2nd Canon camcorder now and just bought a digital camera. But Canon should have made this camera with support for Mac's. its ridiculous.
