We have been lucky, I suppose, in not having a " destroyer" in the family. We did adopt one Bichon who was half- grown, and she chewed the corner offf a brand new cocktail table just days after we had brought her home. It was OUR fault, because she was not trained, was scared, and we left her alone outside a playpen or large crate long enough to ruin a new piece of furniture. Now that she's 14 years old, and the poor table is still in the garage holding supplies, I would not sell nor give it away because of the memories. However, pet TOYS are meant to be toys, not chew sticks. We are lucky that her intestines were not punctured by a piece of wood.. She never liked toys, because her first owners didn't play WITH her and we missed that sweet time with her. I hope my 25+ years' of watching puppies and dogs play from a professional in growth and development in animals ( who were our first behavioral study models) and in humans, will be beneficial to you and to your precious pet or pet family.

We have raised 2 Maltese brothers with Petstages toys as their most- beloved and size- appropriate toys and they loved them very much. I am reviewing all the products we have just re-purchased in the past week ( late March, early April 2016) for a brand new Bichon puppy who will be coming to love with us when he is old enough to leave, which for Bichons is 8 weeks, but for Maltese, is 12 weeks due to their tiny size.

Our Maltese loved every one of our Petstages toys and we bought out the entire collection which was appropriate for their tiny size. The boys loved, and still do love Petstages because the items are soft, not hard except for a few teething products, they are brightly colored ( dogs CAN see colors and patterns), and they are gentle toys for gentle puppies.Read more ›

This is my Yorkshire Terrier's favourite toy! I initially got the Petstages Pyramid elsewhere on this site. It got dingy and dirty very quickly, within six days the stuffing was torn out of it. This Pestages toy on the other hand is made from much more durable fabric, the loops are just big enough to play tug of war with your small dog, toss it across a room for play, or for her to just sink her chompers into. It has a very mild squeaker (not the kind that makes the hairs raise up on the back of your neck, you know the one I mean) and it will only make a sound if she really digs into the centre. It's real colourful and easy to find, so yeah, even when it flies under your couch, puppy and owner alike can find it easily. Get this one, your toy doggy will love it, so will you.

Sorry but this truly did not last long. I have a 5 pound maltese and he does chew of course but he is not a big chewer by no means. The loops on this item are not all attached well and easily rips from it's seams. The best dog toy PetStages creates is the one that has these colors and looks like a frisbee....my dog loves it and he has had it for a long time without any rips. This item is simply a waste of money.

This toy is very small, but it's the perfect size for my yorkie. However, the stuffing started to show after only a couple of days. This is the second Petstages toy that I've bought my puppy that's torn up after only a short time. Won't be buying anymore.

I bought this for my Boxers, thinking it would be about the size of a softball or a canteloupe. It is actually about tennis ball sized. Might be great for a tiny litle ankle chomper, but not big dogs.

Bought this for our kitten, and though our dogs occasionally make off with it, it's been really enjoyed by the cat. It does have a squeaker in the middle but it's not easy to squeak, so it doesn't drive us crazy. Petstages always makes a quality product, but like any toy, check it for wear and throw it away if it gets too torn up to be safe.

This is one of my dog's favorites. I have purchased many of these over the years. My dog is now 6 (small breed). I would rate it a 5, but this does not last long. Although my dog is now an adult, even as a puppy, he could chew this up. The price is good, so I don't mind purchasing this over and again. I just wait for it to go on sale. The stitching needs to be improved and if they made a slightly larger version of this, it would be great.
