And yes, I mean music and movie dvd's. This dvd is amazing. Being a fan of Killswitch Engage ever since their debut came out on Ferret, I HAD to buy this. A huge documentary, I think it's something along the lines of an hour and a half, tells the story of how the band formed from many different bands, to Jesse leaving, to right now. It includes all the music videos, which is great. The bonus features are great, and often humorous, especially when their roadie gets naked and crawls into bed with Jordan, the drummer of AILD, who is passed out asleep. And the greatest thing about this dvd, is the amazing live show they play. They sound fantastic live. The show is about 75 mins and never lets you down.

I'm sure some of you have read what I just wrote about how well they sound live and are saying to yourself "Oh they over dubbed the concert, blah blah blah". I have seen plenty of live Killswitch Engage videos that weren't "overdubbed" and they sounded fantastic. My friend has also seen them a few times and has told me how amazing they are live.

For all of you complaining about the "overdubbing" and how lame it is, did you even buy the dvd? If you did, and you can actually read, you will realize that it says "Live DVD Audio Mixed By Adam Dutkiewicz at Zing Studios" and "Audio Mastered By Drew Layne at All Digital. NYC Oct. 3, 2005." So of course the big show they have on here is going to sound well. Anything is going to sound great if Adam is in charge of the sound. (You hear about this in the dvd.) And I bet that almost all of the music dvd's you complainers buy has a live show that is "overdubbed" or mixed and mastered.

All in all, I love everything about Killswitch and their dvd. They are one of the few bands that you never have to skip a track when you are listening to any of their cds. I highly recommend this to any Killswitch fan. It is a must have and is definitely worth the money.

Killswitch Engage isn't for everybody. People into softer music might find them too hard and true metalheads (whatever those are) probably find them too soft. That's the beaty of KSE though. For most of us, their hard edge backed by melody is enough to draw fans of all genres. Those who are fans are diehard though. A great combination of energy and songs filled with emotion.

{Set This} World Ablaze is an amazing DVD. A solid DVD filled with not only an amazing on stage performance but a surpisingly good Documentary of the band. I didn't even expect a documentary about the band on this DVD, but boy am I glad it's there.

The documentary is the gem of this DVD and that's saying a lot considering how good the performance on stage is. It was great to see the evolution of the band. It's especially good to see how they still have such a good relationship with Jesse David Leach, former frontman of KSE.

I remember back in May of 2005, Adam D. mentioned that there was no plans for a dvd. But I guess sooner or later like most bands, they figured they had to do it. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Words can't even describe how great KSE's dvd is. All of the music videos are included (big plus), and an incredible in-depth documentary on the band with so many different artists (Unearth, God Forbid, Lamb Of God, Shadows Fall, Soilwork, and In Flames to name a few) and their takes on the band, as well as some words from former frontman Jesse David Leech. The setlist for the show was perfect, nothing but the best songs they've ever done...and did I read some people mentioning "overdubs?" Who cares if the sound is too perfect? Enjoy it for what it is, this may as well be the best show KSE has ever done.

Other honerable dvd mentions:

Machine Head - Elegies
Cradle Of Filth - Peace Through Superior Firepower
Soulfly - The Song Remains Insane
Anthrax - Alive 2 (2005)
Lamb Of God - Killadelphia
Shadows Fall - The Art Of Touring (awesome if you're a strong fan of SF and enjoy bootleg-like footage, otherwise stay away)

I don't know, its just too perfect. I wonder how much of it is real. I mean its too perfect for a live performance. Sounds incredible and the pic quality is insane! I enjoyed it but i have only watched it 3 times and now i'm bored of it. The best part has got to be the comical documentary. "Howard Jones black man" its hilarious! I'm glad to see everyone has a sense of humor! Oh and the band Red Tide is incredible and everyone should be checking their music out. They are not together but I pray they do at least one reunion show. Justin Foley on the drums in Red Tide is truly out of this world. You gotta hear it! Red Tide was a band no one knew about back then but today they are the talk of the town. The KSE DVD is probably a good rental at best. It depends on how die hard you are about them.

After seeing what Lamb of God did with their Killadelphia DVD, I was thinking that since they pretty much set the bar for excellence in video and audio quality for a concert DVD, I may be disappointed, not so! Aside from not giving us a 5.1 mix, the audio was dynamic and sounded superb, although nowhere near as "raw" sounding as a live performance probably due to some studio "touch ups". Either way you get an awesome sounding stage spectacle and a fun look inside the band from several interviews with the members as well as perspectives from other bands in the genre. This DVD was fun, entertaining, and as a fan of hard rock and all it's sub genres, pure eye and ear candy!!!
