I did not use this for its intended use. It is intended to seal doors, windows, etc. It probably works well for that.

However, I used it for fixing a manual typewriter which was missing the felt strip under the typebars. It fulfilled that purpose admirably.

I then found another use for it in silencing a loud metal trash can lid. It has a foot peddle to raise it but it is very loud when lowered even slowly. I put a small bit on the edge of the trash can and it is very quiet now.

The rubber foam compresses, but it springs back, so it is likely very good for providing a good seal on doors and windows. The trash can lid is normally down, but the foam will not keep its compressed shape when removed (it goes back to normal) although it retains it while the lid is raised briefly.

The sticky side seems to be very good. It is not too sticky (it doesn't stick to one's hands much), but it seems to stay put on metal and plastic and other surfaces.

I live upstairs from a smoker and the windows in my condo are not well insulated. Along with re-caulking, adding this weather stripping, and using some weather sealing tape, the smell has been completely sealed out. I also used the foam tape on the other windows in my unit that did not need to be sealed shut, and I have seen a noticeable reduction in the draft that used to come in from the windows. It was also very easy to install.

This has given me my sanity back when it comes to my metal air furnace filter... the metal filter used to CLANG around inside on the metal duct cover every time the heat came on or went off... I was able to line the inside of the furnace filter area with this padded foam and.... voila! Nice quiet heat coming on and the permanent filter is removable as always to be cleaned monthly. I couldn't be happier!

Not sure about that other guy's review, but it seems a little harsh ... anyhow ... I found the product to be excellent. It's a bit squishy and rubbery, but that makes for a nice seal. I used it to fill the gap between some metal doors and a cabinet -- works perfect. So thumbs up here.

Not as expected. The rubber foam tends to crinkle and crunch up around the door. We bought the gasket to run around the edges of the door to keep out the insects such as flies, hornets, wasps and whatnots. The adhesive sticks very well, but when opening and closing the door, the gasket tends to crunch up a leaving the seem around the door in a state that will eventually leave a gap large enough to allow insects to penetrate the opening/s. We bought enough gasket to go around two doors (two packs) and at first, the gasket seem to workout well. But then after a couple of weeks, the gasket started to buckle and crinkle up. So far, I have been able to adjust the gasket to close the gaps, but after a few times of opening and closing the doors, the gaps return.

Note to self: Keep looking for a better solution to close the gaps around the exterior doors.

I needed something wide and thick to try to keep rain out of a storage shed. This arrived today. Easy to remove the paper backing and it is sticking just fine. I like the density of the foam. I'll have other projects for this size. Glad I found it.

Oh, and after this afternoon's heavy rain, the inside of the shed is dry.

I needed this to insulate around my slider after I installed a doggie door. It did the job required, but the glue did not hold well. I am disappointed. Is it excellent? I don't really know what an excellent weather stripping would be, but I would think that as a self adhesive type, it would stick much better. They all seem pretty much the same to me. But, if it had held better, I may have given it more stars.
