I bought one for each of my sons, thinking they would each have their own private key. Unfortunately, the keys are identical, just a flap of metal to turn the release mechanism. That would be OK if buying only one, but I wanted each to be different, so they're going back. I may buy adult lock boxes with padlocks. Oh, and I have to say, "Must accept any color" == LAME.

Update: For about the same price, I bought 2 SentrySafe CB12's. SentrySafe can make real cash boxes, with real keys, much larger (increased material cost), and sell for about the same price. A way better deal, and the kids love their "grown-up" cash boxes. LOL Seriously, don't you long for the day when you could get excited over something that small?SentrySafe CB12 Large Cash Box, Black The big ones also have room for books, small toys, etc.

My 7-year-old son has been obsessed with locks and keys and asked for this for his birthday. This was inexpensive but by far his most favorite gift. He hides everything from rocks, paper to foreign coins in it and loves the fact that no one else can get into it.

I purchased 2 of these for my grandsons for Christmas. They LOVE them. The combination is only one number, so it's easy for little kids. They are sturdy, made of metal, and remind me of the toys from my childhood.

Santa left this for my son this Christmas. It's a neat little cash box or safe if your child would rather use it as such. One thing to be aware of though - if you lock it with the key, you cannot open it with the combination. It will not open again until you unlock it with the key. Thankfully, there are 2 keys, so I took one and put it somewhere safe so that when he lock the thing with the key, and promptly loses the key, we can still get it open!

In any case, we received a red one and it was perfect and feels well made. My son loves it. :)

I was very happy to receive the blue cash box. I quickly learned that it has a one number combination. If a nosy sibling finds the number you can use the key to lock the box. So, if someone has the number they still can't get in the box if you switch the box to lock position with the key. The key does not open the box if the box is not on the combination number. It's a good cash box. I've purchased better. I think it's for kids 10 and younger.

I ordered two of these, one for each of my kids. Couldn't choose the color, but that's OK - we got red and black. The product is nice but the keys don't work in either one of them. You can only open them with the combinations, and the lock doesn't seem very sturdy. I don't think these will last very long....

I had one of these when I was younger and it reminds me of mine. Its about as well made as the old ones were, so it will probably break, but for now its good. They can hide all your secret stuff in there!

We received a blue one ( I do find it strange that they cannot narrow down a color to sell/send) and it is very cute for a little child, say 3-7 years of age. Its durable and attractive and worked well as a Christmas gift. As an afterthought we should have stuck money inside as a bonus gift.
