I can not say enough good things about this product, so I buy it by the gallon. I use it on my himalayan and persian cats. I show them and I want to be sure I bring home no gifts from the show.... fleas, mites and all those wonderful things that keep on giving.
Plus it makes their hair so clean that it flows on the judges table. The smell is a fresh clean smell and not a medication type of thing or any of those products that are bought to kill fleas with.
I use it year around and never have had fleas...... yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a owner of a grooming shop and use this product in my shop. Works very well! Kills Fleas on contact!! As long as this product is available I will faithfully continue to buy this Great product. PLEASE Following the directions carefully is a must!!This is a Concentrated shampoo..so mix with water prior to using,FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS will ensure the fleas are dead and most IMPORTANTLY the safty of your pet. Avoid getting the shampoo in the eyes! And also be sure you are outside or in a Vented area... is also a MUST!! This product is not entended for the use on YOUNGER pets!!

We have fleas this year and I was hoping this would remove them and keep more from jumping on board, but I honestly cannot see any difference in outcome between this and Dawn dish liquid, which is what I normally use to bathe my dogs.
The directions for this say to mix it with water, so be prepared with a separate bottle to mix some in.
Then when you wash your dog you're not supposed to get them wet first. I guess that's so you can tell for sure that this got onto every inch of them? Makes you use more, I think, because you don't have the extra water to help make a suds. Plus if they're dry you have to be careful that this goop (and it is like diluted jelly) doesn't just slide right off of them and go to waste.
If you use quite a bit and leave it on for 5 minutes of scrubbing & back scratching, when you get it all rinsed off your dog's fur will be quite soft but it sure doesn't have a "pleasant scent". LOL

I have used this product with all of my pets(and there are MANY) with Excellent results. It does exactly as it says, the product kills fleas on contact. I have experienced no side effects at all. The dogs and cats seem to relax when getting bathed and enjoy the experience. It leaves a nice clean coat with no residue. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. I have read that some have not used the product as directed and wet the dog down first, this product is to be used as is with no water involved until you are rinsing it off. You must remember this is just a step in ridding fleas as their environment also needs to be treated but it is an important step. I purchase it by the gallon in a concentrate and it lasts for a long time. I also have used it in their "room" as a spray rather than bombing. It worked great!

It's the money!!
Good product. I bought three 8 oz. bottles at $9.99 each at my local pet store to wash my 2 cats and 1 dog after they picked up a lot of fleas from some friends animals who stayed with us. Those 8 oz bottles cost $9.99 each at the local pet store! $30 for 24 oz.
I used it because it says it's safe for cats (no permithrins). It did kill fleas and it left their coats and my dog's shiny. I like it.
Now , about the money. This is 128 oz concentrated shampoo. Mix it with 3 X 128 oz of water and you get 512 ounces of shampoo. That is 64 eight ounce bottles. My friendly local pet store would charge me $640 for that much.
Here is another way to look at it for you math-challenged folks- Pet store =$10 for 8 ounces. This 1 gallon jug gives you 8 ounces for about 50 cents!
The complaints you read about it being watery don't matter when it's this cheap.
Again, It kills fleas. It left my 2 cats and my dog very shiny.Little or no perfume, they just smelled clean. What more could I ask for?

Even though De Flea makes a "reptile" version of this shampoo, we use this version (diluted) for our snakes. It goes much farther and is just as, if not more, effective. Permethrin-based sprays on the market for reptiles can actually cause a lot of harm, and will outright kill some snake species (such as hognose snakes). If you have an incident with mites, and want them gone without risking serious damage to the animal, we have found this to be invaluable.

We have thus far used it on snakes, our dogs, and even on some rodents that had mites, and in every case it worked as intended.

It works with every use. I brought my dogs to visit family and their dogs, and unfortunately came home scratching like I've never seen them do before. I actually saw dead fleas as I washed them off. The smell is a little strong so I would not recommend using in an enclosed space and make sure to dilute per directions.
