For literally YEARS I searched for a lubricant for my computer fans. Several companies had the correct lubricant. Unfortunately, at 14 oz, their product size was far too large! Finally I happened to find Super Lube synthetic grease in the 12 gram tube size and it is perfect. The synthetic grease is perfect for high speed fans and the form factor at 12 grams is perfect for application. I have already greased 4 fans, 2 - 80mm, 1 - 92mm, and 1 - 120mm, and they all have recovered from their squeaking. I plan to fill the fan reservoirs of all my computer fans, at least 10 more.

Most fan manufacturers do not put enough, or sometimes ANY, grease in their fan reservoirs. After a year or two of heavy use, the fan will fail. Sometimes these fans can be difficult if not impossible to replace, such as the single system fans on Dell Dimension computers. I suspect most video card manufacturers do not put enough, or any, grease in their fans. The problem is it can be difficult to remove the video card fan to grease it.

If you don't want to change your computer system case fans every 1 or 2 years, using Super Lube can prevent this. If you grease your fan before you install it, instead of waiting for it to make noise, you will keep it in good running condition much longer. See my pic's for this product.

The Super Lube Synthetic Grease is one of the most versatile mechanical lubricants that I have used, but I normally can only find it at local home centers and hardware stores in the large tube sizes. It has the consistency of a general-purpose grease, but this grease has a very wide working-temperature range, doesn't run or separate, and doesn't harden over time, problems I've had with many other grease-type lubricants I have used. I first began using this lubricant some years ago on salt-water boating applications, and found it to be quite satisfactory. Later, I began to substitute it around the home in traditional white-grease applications, such as garage door opener and guide roller applications. It's lubricity seems to last longer and it seems to have better lubrication properties than traditional white grease, and this grease is clear in color so it doesn't look as messy or discolor over time. Now, in these small-tube sizes, I also find it more useful for hobby and small mechanism applications (model trains, fishing reels, hand-tools, etc.) where the small nozzle makes it easier to apply it in tight spaces. Overall, a very good grease.

I've been using this one tube of grease over the past couple of years, mostly as part of the occasional maintenance (roughly once every other month) I've performed on my 3D printer's linear bearings and screw drive to keep things running smoothly. Admittedly I use much more grease than is needed and then wipe off the excess (carrying with it the accumulated dust and presumably some small amount of ground metal), but given that the tube has lasted this long, it's not a concern and has certainly been worth it.

Perhaps I am naive, but I expected "White Grease" to be white in color. This grease is clear. Also, what exactly does "Food Grade" mean? I thought it means "non-toxic." That title is misleading, because this contain teflon (PTFE), which is certainly toxic, and this tube includes this warning: "CAUTION: May cause skin irritation. In case of eye contact, flush with water for 15 minutes; call a physician. For skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN." If you can't even touch it without causing irritation, how can it be food grade? Let me be clear, I am finding no fault at all with this product, and it suits my needs perfectly. The manufacturer does not claim that this is white or food grade. My complaint is with the seller's headline!
