Great headphone with microphone. A bit heavy, yet sturdy and still comfortable. Produces great sound for enjoyment of music. Microphone reproduces spoken sounds with great clarity. Excellent for recording of speech, voice communication and gaming. Due to relatively high impedance, will eat your batteries fast, if used with any portable devices.

This headphone/mircrophone made for a nice replacement of my original set that came with my Rosetta Stone program. They are very comfortable and now I can spend hours on the computer. They do a great job blocking outside sound as well. The mircrophone quality is fair. I don't recommend it for singing or wind instruments but is OK for talking.

Outstanding headset. The mic is great for skype and other PC applications, but is also good enough for voice-overs and professional recording. The sound quality is not as important to me, but it is far better than my previous Logitech set. It is a grade above anything I have seen out there for PC use.

After stepping on them for the millionth time i had to right a review. They are literally in perfect condition after months and months of heavy daily use. no scratches even. this headset is solid. sound quality is good for the price. On ventrillo ive heard conflicting reports that my mic quality is horrible or acceptable, and on Skype it tends to be on the quiet side, but clear, but if you talk in a normal voice its loud enough, its really only when you leave the mic on top of your head that people notice. there is no volume control on the headset, but i have a volume control button on my keyboard, so i don't care. those things just get bumped anyway. for my next headset i will probably spend more money and get something fancy, but these are great if you have nerd rage, or just dont use headphones all the time. i often wear them with glasses and it is perfectly comfortable.

Many Radio Amateurs, 'Hams', use a headset with their radios and the more expensive Heil brand has been
the only good choice for years. Now we have discovered a low cost, but quality alternative that performs
fantasticly, is comfortable and if it ever gets damaged or breaks down, it can be replaced several times for
the price of the long time king. Making an interface cable to connect to your brand of radio is simple with
parts available at your neighborhood Radio Shack store for less than $10. My headset arrived quickly and
I was able to have it in use the same day. If you were wondering why this headset is as good as it is, it is made
for Yamaha by Koss, a long time manufacturer of quality headsets and headphones for over 50 years.

I purchased this headset for my son to use for play by play sports broadcasting. It has features (boom mic, over the ear noise isolation, a very long cable, and rugged construction) of high end broadcasting headsets for about 1/3 the cost of the most reasonably priced "professional" style broadcasting headsets. The voice quality is good and the headset is comfortable to wear for extended periods (2-3 hour football games). It comes wired with separate 3.5mm plugs for microphone and headphones and includes two adapters to convert each from 3.5mm to 1/4" for use with standard audio mixers.

It is important to note that the microphone is the type used by PC sound cards and not the types typically used for professional recording (dynamic or condenser). However, this ships with a battery powered microphone adapter (uses one 1.5V AA battery) to facilitate usage with a standard audio mixer. Although the adapter works fairly well, I replaced it with a custom unit I built myself with parts from Radio Shack.

I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for an entry level sports broadcasting headset.

I love this headset. Clear reception of signals from my ham radio HF radio. Transmitted audio reports are outstanding. Great bargin for the price.

I bought a pair of these for use with my ham radio transceiver. My decision was based largely on the predominantly favorable reviews here and on some ham radio sites. While I have found the headphones to be serviceable, I find them to be mediocre in performance. The ear cushions are large and comfortable enough but do not provide the degree of isolation found on more professional headphones such as the Sony MDR-V6 or MDR-7506. For communications use, the sound quality is adequate but not outstanding. My primary disappointment is with the inexpensive electret microphone. To begin with, it provides far too much gain for my Kenwood TS-440S. I have read a few similar comments elsewhere of similar experiences with other transceivers such as the Elecraft K3. It should be padded or attenuated to make it more suitable. I may consider adding a resistor across the mic at the connector myself to see if this helps. Secondly, this mic is too sensitive to wind noise and this makes it very sensitive to breath sounds from the nose or mouth, even with the tiny foam wind screen in place. We used these outdoors, in a semi-enclosed space for Field Day 2014 and got a few negative comments from other stations on the audio quality. I think this was due to a slight breeze from a nearby fan overloading the mic and thereby distorting the voice. I would prefer a solid dynamic mic instead. I am a casual contest operator (middle of the pack) and wanted something for hands free operation. I will keep these but continue to look for a superior solution. I may have to spring for a Heil ProSet or modify a pair of Dave Clark's that I have.

My estimation is that these are more well suited to gaming use and not to serious communications.
