The KYB SB107 is the recommended strut boot for the 2002 Honda Accord Excel-G rear strut. So I ordered a pair of SB107 boot kits with the KYB 341258 Excel-G struts for my EX V6 Coupe (for a rear strut job). The photo suggests you get a single black accordion thingy. What you actually get doesn't match the product photo. The SB107 actually consists of a black bellow (dust cover) and a white bump stop. Okay no big deal. The quality of the materials is good. Installation instructions tell you to first push the bump stop into one end of the bellow. That was easy enough. Then you slide the two connected pieces on to the shock absorber shaft. Problem is there is a metal collar on the Excel-G shock absorber (can't remove it). The bottom hole of the SB107 bump stop is large enough to slide over the metal collar. But the top hole of the bump stop is too small. So I had to enlarge the bump stop top hole on my drill press so I could slide the assembled SB107 past the collar and on to the KYB shock absorber shaft.

Now that it is installed in my Accord, seems to work fine. I have to subtract a couple stars since I had to do some machining to make it fit.

Some of the reviews I read made me think that people were not researching their application well enough. I made sure to go right to the KYB catalog and find the correct parts, according to the manufacturer. I'm here to tell you, their catalog is a bit off. For the rear of a 94 BMW 525i, they call for this boot/bump stop to be used with their Excel-G shock, p/n 341081. Trouble is, the shaft of that shock is larger than the opening of the bump stop, at the top end. I wouldn't have guessed that parts from the same manufacturer would have fitment issues, but there you go.
I considered cutting the bump stop, because it appears to be longer than the factory unit. (I didn't have one on hand, because the previous owner of my car installed some terrible Monroe shocks and left the bump stops off. I'm shocked that they failed.) In the end, since I'm keeping the stock ride height, I enlarged the opening of the bump stop with a drill. The product works quite well, but I can't give them more than three stars for new parts that require modification.
Also (if it matters to you) the bump stop is white, the dust boot is black, and they need to be assembled. Just pointing it out, because the representative image might lead one to believe it's a one-piece design, with a consistent color.

I bought this boot to replace the OEM boot and shocks on my 2007 Aveo sedan. I was already replacing the stock springs with H&R sport lowering springs so I bought the 343423 KYB GR-2 shocks to improve the ride and the boots to match. OR SO I THOUGHT! I contacted KYB to ensure compatibility before I purchased and the customer service rep confirmed. However, when I received the boot, the bump stop that the boot came wouldn't work unless I was willing to cut it and the quality of the boot itself didn't impress me, either. The bump stop covered ALL the threads I needed to attached the shock mount!! and the same happened when I replaced the front struts too! luckily the OEM boot was still reusable! I rated the SB107 three stars because it seemed like if I was willing to modify the the bump stop and WASN'T lowering my car it might have worked out.

I bought the KYB SB107 Strut Boot for my 2002 BMW 325xi. The KYB bellow left me completely disappointed, the OEM bellow opened wider and covered the entire exposed shock piston, the KYB bellow on the other hand, covers, effectively, nothing. It comes far short of even touching the top of the loaded shock. I imagine at different times there is enough compression to cause the two to meet, but at various time, dirt and debris are definitely going to be getting into the shock with this bellow. The boot, when compared to the OEM boot is correct, but that doesn't mitigate the failure of this package.

Part wasn't what I expected to get. Looked way different. Okay maybe
it is an aftermarket part by the way. Well turns out no way does it fit.
Returning for credit to seller, what a real hassle. Didn't bother, glad they
didn't cost much. Tossed them out.

I bought this along with the KYB 343423 shock. This boot was not designed for the car. The bump stop that comes with it keeps the boot from going down further on the shock shaft and does not allow for proper installation of the shock mount. I don't know why the KYB catalog says this fits the Aveo when it clearly does not. And no, I didn't install it wrong. Reuse your old dust boot and bump stop if possible.

Easy to install and are comparable to the OEM. I only have about 1000 miles on these. will update with new impressions as they age.
