I wanted a set of steps for my crew cab truck instead of bars. When I saw how these mounted I was skeptical. As of writing this review they have been installed on my truck for almost a year. They have held up perfectly. I am a big guy and put my full weight on these daily. They still look new and remain mounted tightly. They look great and work great.

I have been having the Carr hoop step on my 97 F150 for well, 17 years. I saw no reason not to put them on my 2013 F150 Supercrew. I prefer the single step to the "running board" or "nerf" bar because I am often in the woods and mud. I have hit submerged stumps in the mud and have broken one before. But, Just got a new one and bolted right on to the existing holes. Far cheaper than replacing a long nerf bar. These steps are worth the money and provide that "just right" place to aid in getting in and out of the pickup. I normally run 33"-35" tires on my 4x4's. These steps help save your upholstery from sliding in and out of the vehicle and the discomfort of jumping in and out of it also.

Putting the first one on might take you an hour....the next ones only thirty minutes. Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. Handling these steps in the mounting process might make you wonder how they can become rigid.....don't worry, when they are installed properly, they become a solid part of the vehicle.

I had a 375 lb man go on a long drive hunting trip with me. He got in and out of the truck many times on our trip and never once did the step falter in performance.....Also, they are reasonably priced.

Great steps, not too big or bulky & tuck fairly tight to the rockers meaning they may be harder for some to access when getting out of truck (geting in is no problem once you figure out which foot to use.. lol).
Mounting was a snap but still took an hour per step due to my extreme caution & double checking. Look fantastic on my Diesel Silverado.

Put these on my jeep as I couldn't jump high enough to get in without them. I didn't expect them to be as well built as they are. Very good quality and they look great on the Jeep. I weigh 340 and they don't even moan or groan when I step up on them. I've had them on for a year now and they look as good as they did new. Highly recommended.

I bought these to put on my dad's 2000 F150 so my mom could get in. Installation is a bit finicky since these are universal fit and you have to figure out the correct places to put the mounting brackets and what angle they should go, but it should be straightforward for most home mechanics. The black finish matches the black truck, and they seem to stand up to my 250-lb body. 4 bolts on each side will remove the steps from the brackets in case you need more ground clearance.

Installs easy, feels sturdy and looks OK - all as described.

A few things I would change in the kit:

1. The spacers they give you for a couple of the vehicles are plastic - would it be to much more expensive to make them out of some cheap pot steel?
2. The brackets are zinc plated steel - I would prefer that they be powder coated to match the color of step you get. That Zinc will look terrible in less than a year if it gets any road salt or other corrosive on it. I painted mine with black rubberized undercoat.
3. You have to have these things sticking down a good 7 inches before the step area is parallel to the ground - would be nice if the flat part of the step was adjustable (but yeah that would cost more).

Otherwise a nice product.

Used on my 2015 Ram Promaster and they work. Put in rivnuts on the bottom but self taping screws on the top pf the brackets as the room to work is too small on this vehicle. The step works on both the driver's and passenger's sides. They do not extend as far out from the sides as they did on my F150 but are fine. I like them much better than running boards!

While it sort of fits my Tacoma p/u, some of the metal area is too small for the bolts to do a good job. I'm 250 on a light day, and my mechanic advised me to get some solid metal welded to the frame to mount these. Also, the amount of space between the frame & the rocker panel does not work for any right-angle drill I own.
