If you know NA miata suspensions (91-97) you know that the OEM suspension uses a hard rubber bumpstop and a rubber bellows that is one piece. The rubber bellows is always shredded and the bumpstop gets hard with age. On later miata's Mazda changed the bumpstops to be a softer material and there are a number of aftermarket companies that produce these softer bumpstops as a retrofit for the older miatas. This KYB bumpstop and bellows combo is made of a similar material to those aftermarket or later mazda parts. Also, the material of these bellows is much stiffer than the OEM and hopefully more durable. When using aftermarket bumpstops on a miata, you also need to use aftermarket bellows and those were not designed together and usually require zip tying them to the shock for a less than perfect looking install. These KYB parts were designed together and the bumpstop is held captive by the bellows for a clean install. I installed these on KYB AGX shocks and the fit was snug, but perfect. Compared to the original bumpstops, I have noticed substantially improved ride quality when the suspension bottoms out with these bumpstops installed. For $50, you get improved bumpstops and bellows, that fit and work great. That's about half of the cost of the other aftermarket products and the fit with these is better.

Two piece design. The bump stop slips into a groove in the bellow. This is a great price for 11 bucks. I used these for the rear of my 240sx s13. Must have item when replacing old shocks. You need to order 2, they are sold individually.

I wish that I could give this item zero stars. I ordered these for the rear of my 2006 Honda CRV. THEY DO NOT FIT!!! The bellows will not "slide" over the strut body per the instructions. I tried dish soap, silicone spray, heating the lower part of the bellows in hot water...and they still won't "slide" over the strut body. The body of the strut is at least 1/4" bigger in diameter than the I.D. of the bellows. I emailed KYB customer service and Troy Horns reply was...use a little soapy water and the bumpstop will slide on the shaft...say what!!! I never mentioned anything about the shaft, my email says that the "BELLOWS" won't slide over the strut body per your instructions. You sure as hell can't let it sit on top of the strut body. If you did, you would see that the bellows cocks over when the strut is compressed and rubs against the shaft so dirt would still get to the shaft. I emailed Troy Horn back and asked him if he has physically taken the mentioned strut and bellows and tried to make it fit. I also asked him to send me a video of him doing this. I have not received a reply from KYB after 3 days. DO NOT BUY!!!

The SB108 Strut Boot and Bump Stop, although listed by KYB to fit their "Excel G" shock absorbers (#341253, #341254) for a Mazda MX5 NB model 99-05, DO NOT FIT!! DO NOT FIT!!

They will not pass over the fixed bump stop washer on the shockabsorber body because the washer is larger in diameter than the shock body below. (no you cannot reduce the width of the washer as it is a pressing.

The reason for buying via Amazon (Excellent to deal with) was that after we bought the shocks we found we could not buy the required Strut Boot kits or the mounting bushes in New Zealand.

Further more KYB's USA Technical Services and Customer Services have completely ignored my request for assistance with this matter. Probably because they think New Zealand is too far away to be bother with.
(The New Zealand distributor has also chosen to ignore requests for assistance, by a number of retailers on my behalf, that he supplies).

I have now incurred extra cost and time modifying some after market boots and using Flying Miata Bump Stops so I can fit these shock absorbers to our MX5.

The OEM boot on the 2004 Prius struts is solid plastic that’s large enough to slide down over the body of the shock so the plastic never has to bend. SB108 is a softish bellows with a bottom that is too small to fit over the shock body. That means the bellows must compress whenever the car bounces and I can’t imagine it’s going to last as long as the hard plastic OEM cover (which lasted over 10 years so far). One reviewer said it broke after one winter.

I don’t think SB108 provides as much protection against dirt because the bottom of the bellows leaves a space where water/dirt can land on the top of the shock and get pulled into the shock when it compresses. The OEM hard plastic extends down about an inch past the top of the shock so it will shed water around the shock body instead of between the body and piston. As you compress SB108, the base of it slides off to one side of the shock leaving the other side completely unprotected. I'm using SB108 with a new KYB strut that the KYB web site says is compatible with SB108 so this is apparently intended behavior.

I wasted a lot of time with SB108 because the 2-paragraph "manual" didn’t show how to install it or mention what to do with the washer it comes with. The manual shows only how to insert a white foamish bumper into a collar at one end of the black bellows. It turns out that you're then supposed to force the white bumper all the way past the collar on the silver piston rod which takes a fair amount of force. Finally, the washer is meant to sit above the collar to form a platform for whatever is above the collar to sit on (some more rubber parts in my case). After I got all that worked out, I found that the bellows wouldn't fit through the bottom of the strut spring so I had to force the white bumper past the collar again, which is even harder going the other way.

In the end I decided to just keep using the OEM boot due to its far-superior design.
